good thing we got rid of the option

I agree – but how can you blame CPJ for this situation? The idea that we're being "out-talented" or "out-athleted" by these second tier schools is ludicrous. Neither Citadel nor Temple have anywhere near the athletes that we have. Yet they knew where to block and where to run and where to throw the ball. Obviously we shouldn't be talking about firing a brand new coach that is bringing a lot of great ideas and energy to the program. But these losses are 100% on CGC and staff.
I blame CPJ for roster mismanagement and recruiting imbalance. We don’t have a full scholarship two deep on OL because of roster mismanagement. But we do have a lot of small fast guys who can’t catch.

I want to get a few more seasons of recruiting players for a non-option offense before throwing this transition out.

I don’t have the defeatist attitude that Tech cannot field a team and line up against anyone else. I think we can. We won a NC more recently than our factory to the east for God’s sake. It can be done, but a lot of it is a wholesale attitude adjustment. A lot of the option crowd had that defeatist attitude and felt that the 3O was our little kick in the nuts to everyone else that kept us at the edge of the college football radar.
Just as CPJ’s way wasn’t the only way for ‘08, ‘09, and ‘14 to happen, CGC’s way doesn’t mean the transition HAS to look like this.

People are getting really hoodwinked by him if they truly believe 1 -11, while looking utterly lost and overmatched in the process, was the only way out from the state things were left.

I’m not happy with it either and there have been some poor coaching decisions. I hate the qb rotation bullshit. But I’m also not so naïve to think that we have an OL who was suddenly going to learn to stand up and block someone when they have proven consistently over the years they cannot. The offense is a cluster for that reason alone.

Shaq Mason and Justin Thomas held us up for a bit. We were going to be nothing but mediocre going forward with CPJ.
Collins is hopefully the answer, but we were going to have to change at some point

GT/NCAA/college football is a different world from 1990. The problem is GT beginning to lose on its third generation of fans. GT has just given the state to ugag openly with no hesitation. It’s not likely to make it back from that and doesn’t even show it wants to make it back.

Mike Leach went 3-9 year 1 at Washington State, which included 4 games where they scored below 10 points. Now his team is electric to watch is in the top 25 yearly. Too bad they didn’t fire him in year 1...It takes time to turnover a roster and to teach an all new system.

So that gets fixed by being a positive fan, wearing your Tech stuff, and talking up Tech rather than talking down other teams/schools. There is a girl at Tech right now because of talking to me and learning about what Tech offers. Her parents are both uga grads and huge fans and were really anti-Tech until they were exposed to what Tech offered for their kid. The parents still pull for uga but are also now interested in Tech. The kid went from all uga stuff to bring a die hard Tech fan. It isn’t hard. It’s a one at a time proposition.

I am happy for what you have accomplished but no, the answer is you have to appeal to a broad groups of people.

We will win another game. No way we lose all remaining games if our boys keep playing hard for 60 minutes like yesterday.
Well the good news for us is that Monastery and Synagogue aren't remaining on the schedule this year.

The 3O is so boring to watch! 3 yards and a cloud of dust!
Did you watch any Tech football during the Johnson era?? It was a run based offense but could hardly realistically be classified as '3 yards and a cloud of dust!'

I’ve been on board with the current staff. Just wait the 6 to 8 years it takes you to find out the real problem isn’t PJ or GC.
Ok, deal....if during that 6 to 8 years, you STFU, then I'll be good with it. Glad we could agree.

It hit some big plays. It also laid some big eggs, where 3 yds and a cloud is generous.

TIL the proper way to appeal to a broad group of people is to whine like a little girl on a message board. Thanks for the lesson.

See, that sort of öööö talking is cute in the offseason. But when you're losing to ööööty FCS schools and getting shut out on offense for the first time in a quarter century, you think you'd realize how stupid those slogans sound right now.
