I know it makes us feel better to say that we're dealing with sub-par talent this year and the coaches need time to install their system, but I don't buy it.

I can't think of 10 teams in CFB that we could beat right now, so I'd say we are easily in the bottom 10 of CFB.

The loss to Temple on 2 weeks of prep exposes our problem. It's not a talent issue. A good coaching staff has our team scoring more than 0 points against Temple on 2 weeks of prep.

Just chew on this for a second.

Temple had the 4th best passing defense in CFB going into our game (https://www.teamrankings.com/college-football/stat/opponent-passing-yards-per-game?date=2019-09-26)

Temple has the 94th ranked rushing defense in CFB going into our game (https://www.teamrankings.com/college-football/stat/opponent-rushing-yards-per-game?date=2019-09-26).

Naturally, you're going to pound it on the ground, right?

In our sole win, we rushed 46 times, with 21 pass attempts. We have shown that we can run the ball and pull out a win.

So why did our coach call 35 pass attempts? We have players built for the option and we are playing a team with a poor rush defense (and an above average pass defense).

I don't care if CWH is trying to build a pass heavy offense in 2 years. As a coach, your game plan should be to win this week. Not in 2 weeks. Definitely not in 2 years.

I will continue to hold out hope, but I don't think this coaching staff will bring us back to mediocrity on The Flats. I really hope I'm wrong. Go Tech!

They stacked the box almost all game.. big fast linebackers covered option and almost all sweeps and tosses..

They got burned on a couple seem routes.. but you have to be able to establish the run to throw. Unless you got pat mahomes as your QB

What made up for poor O-line play in the TO was A-back chips.. our new scheme is catching up with the talent level.. because RBs, FBs and TEs are supposed to take over that role now. And they’re extremely inexperienced at it.. besides Tyler Davis

Temple having the “4th” best pass defense is a statistical anomaly based on who they’ve played so far. If you actually think they’re that good, you’re dumber than Paterdude.

Awfully short memory.
Go back and watch the Paul Johnson coached team get absolutely dominated along the lines of scrimmage and just about every other position by Minnesota.

Tech fans don’t want to hear this, and I don’t want to offend our players, but the truth is well over half that roster belongs in FCS. We have a few skill players that might play back-up on a top 30 team, but not many.

Make no mistake. The skill on our roster is far closer to The Citadel than it is Ohio State.

Paul Johnson failed to recruit P5 players. And when it became obvious he could no longer win, he stepped down.

Give Collins a chance to bring in some better talent. He can win.

There’s gonna be elevated pass attempts cuz we fell behind on lost fumbles. During the USF game, we led and ran it to run off clock

The problem is the entire roster for Citadel belongs in the FCS, and we still lost to them. That’s on the coaching staff.

In terms of total offensive yards in 2018, GT ranked 6th in the ACC and 56th (just below Temple at 55th btw) in the nation.
