Presley Harvin III overhyped?

Watch the GAMES. Sit in the stands at Bobby Dodd and watch him boom it. He is clearly a weapon for Technology. Longest singular punt and gross average yardage are overrated...sometimes those are attributed to favorable bounces. Net punting average and hang time mean much more. Also % inside the 20 is very important. He has a few mishits in 2019, but is a fantastic punter overall.

He is literally the least of our concerns on the current football team.

With regard to a punter, strictly looking at the stats can lead one astray. Unless you've seen the actual punts -game situation, field position, then you don't really know what the hell you are talking about.

There ought to be a metric that captures and distills that better. If your team's offense sucks you are never going to be punting to pin.

There ought to be a punt average from your team's side of the 50. That'd be a lot more informative.

KO Returns good last year? Yeah, if you're the USF KO Returner, you ööööing LOVED PJ's special teams last year.
Um, “kickoff return” is when Tech is returning the ball. You remember Juanyeh Thomas? “Kickoff coverage” is the USF debacle. And nowhere did I ever say that was any good last season.

A lot of punters have the same mechanics every time they kick and they just aim at the sideline for shorter distances. Harvin uses a few different kicking techniques depending on whether he is trying to get back spin near the goal line or trying to get hang time and distance. He has shanked a few, the bowl game being his worst performance, and maybe that's the risk of making kicking too specialized. But overall, I'd take his talent over just about any other punter.
