I’m old school, a traditionalist -what have you, so I’m not a big fan of the individuality, look at me actions (especially when your team is losing, bad, etc.) But I’ve come to realize over the years that this is what it is, if you will. Trace it back to the ‘80s era Miami Hurricanes -and it’s just progressed even since that era.
In baseball, I hate the bat flip. I know Acuna does this all the time, as do others, but it used to be next time up your getting a high hard one under the chin and your tasting dirt. But now, even MLB is touting this type of thing in their “let the kids play” marketing campaign.
Again, I’d prefer not to see this stuff, but it doesn’t bother me enough to drive me away from the game(s). I just accept it as part of the fabric of the era and move on.
