2020 Recruiting

Did that lock wr to Unc from Ga realize their coach is likely to get Alzheimer’s before he will be on a UNC team worth playin on?

Also, say what you want about Collins, but the secondary got immediately deeper with transfers and then immediately deeper again in new recruits and transfers. Next year the secondary will have inexperience but depth. The year after they might be genuinely scary.

I appreciate the DB depth. However, if we do not get some lineman on offense and defense, it will not matter.

Why is our secondary going to be inexperienced next year. Literally everybody getting snaps is returning.

Gibbs finally got the bump to 4* in the 247 composite. That makes 3 for this class so far, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Collins gets 1-2 more 4* guys.

Now would just like to see a couple of big DT’s added to the class.

Where is ibee? Are we holding out on the last ships for DTs?

While I think its not that hard to grow DTs, our resurgence would be faster if we could land a couple already full sized.

From what I’ve read on here, outside of Jones there aren’t many remaining DT targets for Tech in this class. May be planning to grow some from larger DE recruits in years past as mentioned above. I agree with not taking reaches that suck up a scholly for 5 years, but need a solution to the trenches problem.

We should be signing 2 DT every year. When you can’t get the five star no doubters the rest can be crapshoots and who knows who will pan out. One of our best DTs was a 2 star with FCS offers.
Boy, we've come along way only to go back to fishing the FCS offer well so soon.

Yeah, that is the way it goes sometimes. We do have a lot of DEs on the roster so I figure a couple of them will play inside at least part of the time and maybe someone can grow into a DT. Also, I hope Lee can play on the DLine next year and we don't need him at OL.

Yep, should be a strength next year. If we can develop one pass rusher and make sure the blitz gets to the QB, then we might be solid next year. A pass rusher is someone even when blocked reasonable well still gets to the QB after a few seconds.

Rule #1 of football is "run the ball". And rule #2 is "stop the run". And the only way you do that is to get some big guys with quick feet on the LOS. That falls squarely on Collins.
Nothing wrong with the spread offense. It's fun to watch. But I want to be able to line up in an "I" and pound the damn rock into the end zone on 4th and goal from the 2 when we need to.

2020 DT prospects Reginald Perry and Demarjhe Lewis were both at the game Saturday. Not sure Lewis is a take at this point. There was also some talk that William Anderson might have been coming with his HS teammate Nate McCollum but not sure he actually did.

Why would Lewis not be a take? Grades, or we think we have better guys locked down?
