Blast from past

I re watched that Sun Bowl a few weeks ago.

That Sun Bowl was, IIRC, one of only two CPJ-era games that I missed. I had the travel all booked, but was sick as a dog and had to scrub the trip on the afternoon I was supposed to fly out. Figures that we'd have a good win in the Sun Bowl I didn't attend, and an annoying loss in the one that I did.

(The other game I missed was the game at Miami the week before our game at BYU. Planned an extended national parks vacation to Utah ahead of the BYU game, and then the government shut down a day or two before we flew out, so I had to replan the whole trip to avoid federal parks on Thursday night before leaving on Friday.)

The difference is the next couple of years are expected to suck. In 2012 we were in Johnson's fifth year and had a senior quarterback with plenty of experience.
My thoughts as well. Different expectations. If year 3 or 4 of CGC era looks a lot like 2012, it will not be a promising outlook.

If we beat UVA, BC, Duke, UNC, and 2 other P5 schools in year 3 of CGC, I will assume he has us trending in the right direction.

I should have been more clear. I don't think a loss to g5 like mtsu will be the right direction. Your statement would be very acceptable for year 2, maybe year 3, but certainly not year 4.

eh, öööö happens...

The MTSU game ... the swan song, or swan poem, for one Al Groh

Georgia was loaded that year. That team and the one from two years ago were two of their best in a long time

FSU was loaded too and we still almost pulled that one out in the ACC CG

PJ was definitely "Coach Almost". Lots of "Almost" moments.

Dumb coach.... such a loser to lose so many games at GT where they win 10 games every year and are a constant top 25 recruiting powerhouse and hardly ever lose to uga.

Has anyone looked at the win lose record for every ACC team and compared to GT over the last 10 to 15 years? Hint GT is in the top of the ratios

2012 was a decent year for GT and a good year to watch football for the Jackets.

2015 and 2017 was not much fun... but 2019 is a whole new level.
