I assume Georgia fans are ööööing salivating right now. Probably because they thought about their sisters, but also because they are looking at the dumpster fire that is Tech and they are going to ööööing destroy us. For years.
destroy? like what happened in ‘18 & ‘17?

years when UGA ‘destroyed’ Tech since 1980
(destroyed defined as two-TD’s+)

CPJ era - ‘11, ‘12, ‘17, ‘18
CCG era - ‘02, ‘03, ‘07
CGO’L era - ‘01
*** era - ‘92, ‘93, ‘94
CBR era - ‘87, ‘88
CBC era -‘80, ‘81, ‘82

Observations:
~CBC, CBR, ***, and CCG struggled against UGA early in their tenure (in the case of ***, his whole damn tenure)
~CGO’L struggled only once, at the end of his
tenure
~CPJ suffered back-to-back blowouts at the end of his tenure ...and that’s where CGC steps in.

In conclusion, these figures show that more than likely a new coach at Tech, CGC in this case, will struggle with UGA. That probability is even more likely given that the team he inherited struggled in its previous two seasons. Yet, all that being said, I’m confident that the struggles will be few, early just as with his predecessors, but he will find success as well.

What ööööing game were you watching? We looked like crap against the Citadel. We looked like crap against USF. We have looked like crap all season long. Unless that perfect storm was lazy coaching and lazy playing and an asshole sitting in the box with his feet up calling plays.

Tech deserved to lose to the Citadel. There wasn't a perfect storm or a bunch of unfortunate events.

But hIsToRiC TrAnSfOrMaTiOn. Our coaching this season is clown shoes L round.
Welp, guess we need to just quit.

You are being an ass. Georgie is not going to destroy us two years from now. Will they destroy us when we are playing walkons on the line vs their NFL players? Yes. They almost certainly will. That was one of the known downsides of the 3O experiment. It is a problem coming off the 3O. Everyone said it. Everyone knew it. Iiwii.

They destroyed us the past two years even before we tried to transition 3O players away from the 30. Let's not kid ourselves into thinking we had a very good chance of competing with them this year either way.

You claim to be a fan of GT, yet what you are doing with your comments is bringing negativity towards our program and not showing support whatsoever. You may be right about our OC in a couple years when we have concrete evidence and substance to back that up, but right now I can guarantee you do not have the needed information and you damn sure aren't smart enough to make that assumption. If it comes to be that you are right, it will be by sheer dumb luck. So kudos for that if it happens.
One of us will look real stupid in about two years. Hoping its me. Why in the hell would I actually want Tech to lose?

But I ain't holding out hope.

I'm not saying he's a great coach yet either. All I'm saying is you haven't given him or the rest of the staff long enough to determine that. So no, I won't look stupid in 2 years because by then I'll have the information I need to form an educated opinion on them, not just a knee-jerk reaction guess because of a bad start due to more extenuating circumstances that go much farther than just "coaching."

EDIT: Also, if you want Tech to succeed, then show support for who they have when you know good and well they're going to give them time to get our current guys more experienced in their system and get new guys in that fit what they want to do. Even if in 2 years the OC turns out to be a flop, getting rid of him right now isn't the answer. You can't pass judgement on a coach or system this early in transition. If we were already running this type of offense and had the type players needed (most especially on the lines), then yes you could pinpoint most of the blame, if not all, on the coaching staff. Our scenario is vastly different than any other coaching change.

That is the main reason CPJ relocated to the golf course.

So basically you're saying you can't name them. What were your realistic expectations for this season? You have got to be the most delusional person out there if you think we SHOULD win 5-6 games. Even the experts out there have plainly stated that if we were to make a bowl game this year, that CGC and staff would be NATIONAL coaches of the year. It's like you don't understand what we're going through as far as transition and inexperience. You think it's the same as any other coaching change in the country and we should just plug and play and keep on rolling. That's not how the real world works, chief. Our coaches are ripping the band-aid off to get the team to where they want them to be as soon as possible, and results are suffering right now because of it. They know they could be more successful right now running some different schemes, but all that does is delay the end goal.
I don't really think there are any college football experts out there, but lots of people that purport to be....including some on ST. You guys keep up the good work. I'll hang up and listen.

The expert turned out to be Wes Durham. I didn't see a need to ask for a link after that.

That was the first one I remembered off the top of my head. I would think Wes has a good idea of GT's program and value his opinion moreso than many others. He also doesn't typically underestimate GT like others do. Mark Packer agreed with him and it was also the same sentiment of basically the entire ACC network crew on their cfb show. Other ESPN anchors also have said the same. Vegas, if you don't believe has experts you are nuts, had us slated at 3 wins this season. FPI ratings had us as underdogs in every game except one. I don't know what else you need to convince you that everyone in the field expected this. Just because we have a history of being underrated doesn't mean they aren't right about us this season.

Something else of note going back to those OL/DL recruiting rankings. We had 600 points worth of OL recruited from 2015-2019. We have 405 points worth of OL committed in this class, with a couple of those guys having legitimate shot to move up in the ratings.

It's like some people believe we should be able to just plug and play a new coaching staff in with a different scheme and there should be no setbacks, learning curve, or "lumps" if you will.
I definitely think we should be able to plug in a new coaching staff with a different scheme and there should be no losses to The Citadel. Which school was missing from your charts.

But I'm the kind of fan who *always* thinks we could win out. Heck, after UGA played so poorly on Saturday, even that game might be competitive.
