Above The Line Watch

I hope we made the necessary changes on punt team. A couple of the returns we gave up against Miami were atrocious.
FWIW, Collins said that on the punt that got returned back to like the 15 (which shouldn't have happened because they called that BS illegal formation on us and it cancelled out the roughing the punter penalty), he had replaced the gunners because our normal 2 gunners had just sprinted 60 yards covering the punt the play before. He thought it would be better to have fresher guys in there but probably best to put your normal starters back in there for that.

And the other punt was when we were backed up to our 1 or 2 yard line and we had to max protect Harvin and couldn't get any coverage downfield. I think if we stay in normal to decent field position our punt game will stay pretty solid.

Has he played yet? If not I'd wait another week and preserve his redshirt.
Just because he's on there he still may not play. But I agree I'm sure they are looking at that. I wouldn't be surprised to see a lot of new guys get some PT in the last 4.

Bruce Jordan-Swilling ATL? I thought he was injured and possibly out for the season. Good to see he is back.

That can be managed. Want to get him a sniff of football at this level, then find a game to hold him out. If he does play, then I expect it will be minimal on a rotation...similar to how most of the other FR were broken in early. The biggest thing for me about him moving ATL is that the coaches are acknowledging that he is (1) ready to contribute physically and (2) putting the work in during practice to get himself ready.

Just because you're hurt and out doesn't mean you get taken off the ATL chart.

The ones I'm thinking of don't play gunner. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, but I will be watching them keenly.
