He should have never been hired!
Well that is something you MUST consider when you hire someone. The question you should ask is: if we have a losing record in the 2nd season will I bring this guy back. If your answer is no, then you really shouldn't hire him. If you aren't that sure that he can be a good coach, then find someone else.

Willie should be high-fiving his agent. Dude will be getting paid for doing nothing.

FSU should steal Wake Forest’s coach and start averaging 50 points a game in conference.
Yeah, look at what that guy’s doing with 60th ranked recruiting classes.

When their original dynasty fell apart after 2000, they spent 12 years languishing in purgatory before they made it back into the national conversation. In the next five seasons they won an Orange Bowl, won a BCS title game, lost a CFP Rose Bowl, lost a Peach bowl, and won another Orange Bowl. They followed this stunning return to form with a trip to Shreveport in 2017 and no bowl at all in 2018. I can't think of another program that has had such drastic highs and lows in such a short timeframe. If they don't get this hire right, they might be in the basement for the foreseeable future.
Their expectations are too high. They are nothing but a woman's college.

They say only the good die young but I suppose the exception is the rule in college football.

Please hire this clown

Minnesota has a really nice campus - it blends right into that part of town, but it is also across the Mississippi so it isn't as developed as the downtown section. Cool stadium, but it is a generic Big 10 stadium. Very much just a bowl with no other discernible features. Kind of reminds me of David Wade if you completed the bowl under the big screen. Terrible tailgating, though. There are zero parking lots or green space near the stadium. Literally zero.

What's weird about Fleck is that he is so antithetical to the Twin Cities. The school is blocks from the old Pilsbury mill. It's very much a Midwestern town - old school, not showy, built on union labor and Midwestern commodities. Fleck is such a try hard... just a weird combo.

I hear you on Ross but just don't think the two situations are comparable. Ross had won championships and proved he could coach, if we didn't want him then someone else would've taken him in a heartbeat. Willie may have a hard time finding another P5 job and has not won championships. With that said, I agree with you that there are some itchy quick firers out there. I also think these contract lengths are out of hand. I know recruiting but ..... there should be some way to lessen buyouts.
