I agree with everything above, except all those words that you used and the opinion they stated. in a normal situation with a proven leader, maybe they ring true. Not with WW.

Six years of sticking w/Wee Willie would be the certain way to get yourself fired as the AD in year three. There was no upside to keeping him. None. Wee Willie wasn't Bobby Ross. He's not even close to CGC, and the verdict is still out on that one. No energy, no upside, no scheme, no buy in...nothing.

Whoever said bring in Wake's coach has the right idea. Someone who's run a longtime program in a difficult environment and has done well. You hire someone with little history, you takes your chances. In this case, you lose. (and know I predicted this at hiring 1.5 yrs ago, not yesterday).

mooch, out.
Taggart split the locker room and the fan base by insisting the quarterback position be filled with an African American player, the inverse of Bill Lewis/Luginbill fiasco.

Minnesota has a really nice campus - it blends right into that part of town, but it is also across the Mississippi so it isn't as developed as the downtown section. Cool stadium, but it is a generic Big 10 stadium. Very much just a bowl with no other discernible features. Kind of reminds me of David Wade if you completed the bowl under the big screen. Terrible tailgating, though. There are zero parking lots or green space near the stadium. Literally zero.

What's weird about Fleck is that he is so antithetical to the Twin Cities. The school is blocks from the old Pilsbury mill. It's very much a Midwestern town - old school, not showy, built on union labor and Midwestern commodities. Fleck is such a try hard... just a weird combo.
Nice to hear such complimentary words on my second team. Although I'm not sure what stadium David Wade is. Davis Wade at MSU and Wallace Wade at Duke look nothing like it, but yeah the stadium was designed to look like a generic brick stadium with the West endzone open to views of the skyline.

As far as Fleck, the school bent over backwards to make him happy. They did everything they could to get the ROW THE BOAT copyright and have put it on every helmet, jersey and shirt possible. While he is a huge showboat, he's from the midwest and spent almost his entire career there. Personally, I hope he stays at Minnesota long term.

Client of mine saw Butch Jones @ the Tally airport, picked up by a dude in a unbranded garnet/ gold jumpsuit holding a block of paper with his name on it. That is why he is 100% sure it was Butch.

Not really. Foolin wit ya.

What was before?
Every freaking HS in NE ran the powerI triple option. Their redshirt freshman OL had 4 years in the system when they walked on campus. That is gone now. The best they can do now is to find a great coach and become Iowa.

All 12 h.s. in Nebraska (half of which play 8 man football)?
