Rate Geoff Collins First Season

He needs more talent, but more importantly, he needs his players. He did alright at Temple with Rhule's players, but they weren't transitioning out of the TO. We're all disappointed, and games like today offer no positives to take away, but he hasn't coached anywhere close to enough games at Tech for your statement to be supportable.
For your argument to hold true, you’d have to think that Collins’ way out was the ONLY way out.

I don’t so I’m at more liberty to say his coaching chops are in question.

CGC definitely needs to answer for why he allowed us to lose about 5 starters for the year on the OL & DL to injury.

Very poor coaching.
Right that combined with the most difficult transition in the history of any sport is why this season (or his previous ones at temple) can provide no objective evidence of poor on the field coaching.

The turning point for me on Chan was when we opened the VT game with a timeout.

Today, we started the VT game with a delay of game. I’m not optimistic.
Pretty sure we opened the second half of the citadel game with a timeout as well

Don't know how people are giving Collins an A for recruiting. Our current recruiting class is rated 5th in the ACC, an A should be at least in the top third of the conference. We have the top class in the second tier of the conference, that is a solid B for recruiting if everything stands as is. D- for the season so far. He can bring that up with an upset of NCState and a decent showing against UGA.

We can be a good program if Collins continues to recruit well and can surround himself with above average coordinators and assistants; much like the Dabo model, not like the Saban model.

I personally don't blame Coach Collins...but then again...the guy knew EXACTLY what he was walking into: A school that don't give a crap about athletics in general and plays lip service in supporting it.

Unless a complete, fundamental change in attitudes across the ENTIRE GT Nation, this year could become the normal.

If he can hold the class together, I would give him a B. If he loses commitments....an F.

GO JACKETS!!

This is why I'm still on board with Collins, because I think he has the same attributes dabo has, and also he's probably even a little better than Dabo x's and o's

PJ got rid of his DC after year 2 that included an acc championship and orange bowl appearance. I see no reason paternope can't be shown the door after this failure of a season

Recruiting is a multi year process. If we end up at 5th in the conference, I am very happy with that since he hasn’t been in contact with some of these guys since they were freshman.

If we can be the #2 ACC recruiting school for athletes in GA, we will be in excellent shape.

Why?

Hahahahaha.

First sentence of his post game presser.

“Hats off to VT. That is the best roster as far as talent we’ve played since Temple.”

Hahahahaha.

Then, he blames attrition. I just knew he’d be incapable of taking public responsibility.

We have a grown child as a head coach.
