Matt Rhule < Geoff Collins

Matt Rhule went 1-11 in year 1 at Baylor... And you’re a maggot.

Just got tired of people like you tearing down the previous regime to justify the performance of the current. Sad thing is, we’ll probably ride that excuse for the next 4 years, just like politics... always the last guy’s fault.

"It's the biggest transformation in the last 30 years in college football"
"CPJ knew the cupboard was bare. Knew his goose was cooked and left"
"Tech has to do things differently because they can't compete doing things like everyone else"

There are others, but you either believe those or you don't. No matter which side you find yourself on, it is still WAY, WAY TOO EARLY in the CGC tenure to start making generalizations as if they are fact. Losing sucks. Tech's record this year sucks. Today was a definite step backwards after it seemed the team was finally starting to make steady progress in the right direction. Either way though, we'll just have to see won't we. Pretty stupid to compare Rhule's record this year at Baylor vs. Collins' at Tech in the context of gleaning any indication of where things are headed. Even their time at Temple is too short of a time period/sample size (mainly Collins) for valid comparison.

You are a ööööing idiot!

he’s always been on an upward trajectory. His team regressed after he left.

This "upward trajectory" you speak of isn't realized in one year. In his first years at Temple and Baylor, his teams did worse than his predecessors did the prior year.

Look, chances are Rhule is a better coach than Collins. Rhule is probably one of the top handful of coaches in the country. But that's irrelevant to our situation. Collins is recruiting well and has a long contract, so while people piss and moan or whatever to cope through this lean period, he's going to get a chance to win with his players. If he fails to do so, then the next coach will get a chance to shoot for an ACC title with CGC's superior recruits, sort of like CPJ did.
