CGC's Post-VT Presser

Unfortunately you're not going to get much substance out of Collins in a post game presser.

“Best roster we’ve seen since temple”

first I laughed.
Then I thought... wait, is that true??
Which made me laugh even more.
I'm not watching, but who? VT? Their DL is damn small. 290 and under. Best roster? We should have been able to run all day. Unfortunately, we now do bullshit on 2nd and 1 like run shotgun plays and decide to breakout a wildcat look on 3rd and 1 that results in a 4th and 13. Jesus.

Interestingly, if you listen to Fuentes post game, he talks about how they were working on getting the entire bench into the game by the start of the second half.

Pretty blunt by Curry. Basically said the players need to take ownership and play better.

With a 31-0 advantage, it made it pretty easy to accomplish.

Temple had a 1rst Round pick last year.

who gives a öööö?
Vic Beasley was a first round pick and he ööööing sucks.
they still beat our damn ass without that guy this year.

I'm sorta not in favor of the players' post-game pressers. These kids – no fault of their own – just don't have the maturity to add much. And especially after a game like this it feels kinda cruel to make them sit up there and talk about their failures. The coaches are getting paid big bucks to deliver and should be accountable for their mistakes – these kids put their bodies on the line primarily for the love of the sport. Give 'em a break at this point.

Ironically, a Matt Rhule recruit. But then Collins is taking all credit for Giff Smith's recruiting work for the 2006 class.

Collins' head coaching career consists of all of 2 mediocre seasons at Temple. That's all. Lewis had a much better resume when Homer hired him.

Before coming to GT, Bill Lewis had a career HC record of 34-33-2. He had one – one! – season with a winning record in his six years as a HC.

CGC's pre-GT career HC record was 15-10. Both of his seasons as a HC before GT resulted in winning records.

Don't get me wrong, I agree that CGC had a really thin resume. But Bill Lewis' resume was definitely not "much better." He just had that one good season at ECU, and that got him our job.

PS. Mentioning Bill Lewis' name in the context of evaluating CGC is suddenly giving me shivers.
