Matt Rhule < Geoff Collins

You honestly think changing an offense is harder than fixing a team full of sexual predators? You gonna make that argument?

Its not just changing an offense. It is a roster gutted beyond 2015 levels. Anybody who gave a pass to 3-9 (I did) and doesn't now is showing bias. Tired of people saying this is the "same team" that barely won 7 last year. It wasn't, even before the injuries.

And that one win was against Kansas. He lost by 43 to Oklahoma State and committed the gravest of all sins by losing to an FCS team.

Losing against a FCS team isn’t the greatest of all sins. Losing to abad FCS team is worse.

What’s your secret?

Low carb, hardly any processed food or sugar. Cardio 70%, weight training 30%. Lot's of water. Keto diet, mixed in with weight watchers is what I tend to follow. I am a "endomorph" so it's easy for me to put on weight, but also easy to put on muscle. It's a lifestyle change for sure.

Looks a lot like 2015 to me

With a bunch of close losses?

No, this year is uniquely bad. Some of it is by design in that we are intentionally playing guys for the future rather than the present. Otherwise, TO would be starting and we would be maybe 2 games better. It wouldn’t help for the future, but we would be better now.

CGC gets a pass this year. But next year better be markedly better. Better routes, better fundamentals, better run design. We better be in the running for a bowl next year. Not a good one, but at least hoping by the last game of the year that 5-7 is good enough.

Baylor's offense only ran 16 plays for 69 yards and 5:40 of possession with 0 points in the entire 2nd half of the game. By some of you guys' logic here, that means they should fire the OC. They have a talented roster and are undefeated so that should make it even more unforgivable.

Oh and their defense blew a 25 point lead at home in arguably one of the biggest games in program history. Sounds like a simple case of firing the D coordinator.

Then again the HC hired both those clowns so the problem must be coming from up top. Let's fire him. That's the logical answer, right?

Skip all that noise and fire the OL coach.

C'mon, man. You're reaching. That half of football was an absolute anomaly for Baylor this season, plus it was against a top 10 opponent. We've looked inept on offense for the vast majority of our season, including entire games against opponents that we should BEAT.

Baylor's choke against Oklahoma was more akin to us choking against Duke in 2014. It was an aberration amidst an otherwise unbelievable season.

This.

Early evidence is not encouraging, but it's just that. Too early to pass definitive judgement. Next year we should expect to be competitive every week, and look like a competent, well-coached football team. It might not show up in terms of total W/L due to the brutal schedule, but it should be evident.

No crap I'm reaching, it's called tounge-in-cheek. Same as people calling for anybody on staff this year to be fired. That's even more of a reach. With our offensive scheme change plus the decimation of our roster, we have an excuse. You can not consistently game-plan or execute with depleted resources. We've seen flashes here and there. It's too early to tell if that was because play-calling has been different, or if players were just executing better some weeks, or if our opponent's just weren't executing as well some weeks.

Rhule also took a Temple team that was crap and turned them into 10 wins. Collins hasn’t done anything. He’s never proved anything as a head.

Rhule took over a Temple team that had been on the upswing under Al Golden (and had ONE bad year under Adazzio) and they got worse before they got better. Temple won 8+ games 3 of the last 4 years when Rhule was hired. They were already a program on the rise and enjoying their best success since the 1930s.

Threads like this are so pointless. Everybody and their brother predicted this to be one of the toughest years in decades at GT. We all *knew* it had to get worse (or much worse) before it got better. We knew the offense was going to look like the keystone cops. We knew there was no easy fix for a defense that had been bad for years. We knew the roster needed a rebuild from top to bottom. We have a couple of talented players but not a full team of them. Yes, the previous regime could make hay with this roster but the previous regime was also why we have a talent deficit to nearly every team we play, including GoF schools. This year was a write off no matter what the results might have been. Only the 100% biggest PJ homer can not understand and relate to what the current staff is doing this year.

As others have said, though, next year is not a free pass. Next year needs to show we are on the right path. Honestly, though, this is at least a three year rebuild so if half our starting roster are freshman next year, expect another long year. We may not go bowling again until the class of 2020 are in their third year.

This thread isn't looking so hot anymore. Geoff hasn't blown a 25 point lead this year. I think we made the correct hire!
I’m not sure what you’re trying to say here, but this wins post of the week.
