Rate Geoff Collins First Season

He pulled the opening drive timeout trick a time or two as well. Not to mention his ööööing wasting timeouts in that goddamn worthless offsides play which bit us many times when we’d need a timeout later in the game.

The offsides play was funny the few times it worked.

Of course it was. But you felt bad afterwards. Like laughing at a retard. Haha you’re retarded and jumped offsides.
And then you realize you’re the retard cause you wasted 100 timeouts in other games for that one drive extending penalty.

The school explicitly hired him to not serve chicken because the customers were ööööing tired of eating it
Some were, some weren’t. CPJ ran his course here; I have no issues with bringing in CGC as opposed to another option guy. However, CGC made a choice to go about this season and the transition the way he has, and it’s reflected in the record. I don’t believe any staff that loses to The Citadel and was shut out at home is above criticism.

I understand what you’re saying, but others may be like me and have trouble understanding, even with injuries and walk-ons, how we could give VPISU a game worse than Old Dominion, Furman, or Rhode Island.

Is the roster that bad that this should be the expected result this season?

They are not the same team as they were then. Hendon Hooker has brought back the physical run aspect they have been missing under Fuente.

No one is saying he’s above criticism. But the amount and type of criticism he’s getting (especially from old white guys who are really just mad about change) is the problem

Agree with ibb. VT is much better now than they were back then. As you saw, they play extremely physical and our depleted lines couldn't handle it. They completely trounced a previously ranked Wake Forest last week and had Notre Dame beat on the road... then ND scored with 0:29 seconds left in the 4th Qtr to take their first lead of the 2nd half.

VT has 2 ACC losses (their first two ACC games and are undefeated in league play since) and will play the two teams in front of them in the standings for their last two games. That will be very telling... I would not be surprised based on what I've seen if VT runs the table and represents the Coastal in the ACCCG against Clemson.

We still got stomped badly, but maybe in the end they turn out to be the best team on our schedule outside of Clemson and UGA (and Temple).

Ryans-Walk on
Chimedza
Brooks Walk-on
Domineck

Curry- 3 yr starter who still can’t get off blocks or line up correctly

Thomas- Good athlete but floats on the field as it appears he forgets. 1st yr as a ILB. Still favoring injured shoulder

Quez Jackson- decent athlete but 1st yr getting game reps

This was our front 7 Saturday. What type of miracle worker were y’all expected???

That certainly explains the giving up of chunk plays and points, but it doesn't address why it took us until the 4th quarter to cross midfield nor going 4 straight 3 and outs. Clemson didn't even do that to us, did they? It also doesn't address the lack of focus from the KO - delay of game, the dropsies, etc. We just looked all out of whack. It didn't make any sense.

We looked sharp against UVA, and VT isn't THAT much better defensively than UVA.

Our OL explains that.

If the VT team that played us Saturday plays the UVA team that we played last Saturday, VT will win and it won't be close.

If i show you, would it change your mind?

VT with Hooker and not RYAN Willis is

The jury is still "out" with me. Not`making ay RASH negative comments until next year. I would like to see Yates start against NCSt though.

I'm a younger guy. I like change. Hell, I was a huge CPJ fan but knew it was time for change because things had gotten stale. I've got no problem with money down or the juice crew, and I think the culture change CGC is creating is a really good thing. Our recruiting profile changed overnight, and I credit CGC with that.

But our football team ööööing sucks right now. I will be unhappy watching our games as long as that is the case. Doesn't mean I hate CGC and certainly doesn't mean I want anyone fired right now, but I'm not going to pretend everything is sunshine and butterflies when we look unprepared and poorly coached on top of our lack of talent.

We've been really good on either the offensive or defensive side of the ball for about 20 years now, mostly due to superior coaching. Can you blame Tech fans for getting used to that coaching advantage and being frustrated when it doesn't seem to be there anymore?

Juice Crew v. Boomers is a lot of noise. I didn't anticipate there being so many Geock-sniffers this early into the man's tenure, though.

Quite possibility.

What does that have to do with our O against their D? Something was up beyond the Jimmys and Joes on Saturday. Our brains were in a blender from the start.

You said VT is not that much better than UVA and i was answering thatb
