Awesome pick up

And as a civil engineer, maybe he can explain to Kirby where Athens is in relation to Atlanta
Even better, he can explain the smell on the football field is due to the river of shat that flows a few feet below sanford.

If he is, more power to him. I hated those stupid classes. When you're 18, and you look at the next four years, and see about 10 classes called various combinations of "properties, steel, concrete", you wonder what the hell you've done.

That's before you even knew what the statics-dynamics-def bods shaft trilogy was.
These days they really aren't into teaching much with concrete and steel. Incredible to think that you can earn a BCE without either of those two classes.

BTW, from Brentwood, went to HS with Big B.
The other 4 star OL from that same Brentwood Academy team, Bryce Matthews of Ole Miss, is still available in the Transfer Portal. He is the son of Texas A&M and NFL offensive lineman, Jason Matthews.

Civil engineers at any other school have to take those classes too. Im sure GT figured out a way to make them as evil as possible, though.

unfortunately not one of THE Matthews I don't think

We need an in back into that family before the next generation grows up, could probably get an OL half full of Matthews and a few linebackers. They need to come back to where it started.

Found his VN xfer portal announcement thread...beware of processed, passed on the depth chart, etc comments.

I wouldn't put too much stock into those comments.
Just like StinGTalk and other football forums, there are posters who have ZERO idea what they're talking about.

Here's what I do know, Key can evaluate talent very well, has experience teaching newcomers an offense and making them useful additions.

Welcome to our brotherhood, Hoss!

Well let's get him on the practice field. If he can stop my speed rush then he's pretty good

and bama played against ut each year. Granted brent was not scouting the ut OL but still i am sure he has seen enough

However. It is a fact he was pushed out of the main rotation this year. Only started 3 games. So there is a reason for that. He is likely a solid player that will be a big help for is this year but not next level material etc.

Nonetheless this is exactly what we need and i hope the staff can leave him at his more natural position at G vs tackle.

I think, and this is just speculation, that Key and Collins reached for Southers cuz they had to, but got Ryan as an upgrade cuz they could.

I’m not trying to hear all that noise... Truth is OL was a major liability for much of 2019. We aren’t going to be able to roll out a bunch of true freshman and think that will fix it either. Need solid, experienced guys to log snaps while these talented freshman learn how to play P5 football. Great addition!
