2020 Recruiting

From what I've read it also depends on what Florida does in their recruiting of running backs, though I don't know if anything has changed in that regard today.
IIRC, UF flipped that running back who was committed to Pittsburgh. I'd have to go back and look to confirm that.

In listening to CGC and AD, it sounded like a large number of signees are going to be starting school in January. Huge for the program in so many ways. Very happy to see this class coming together. Hell of a job by the staff to do this so quickly.

They have no RBs committed at this point

I think he(Henry Parish) is also making his decision in February - saw that he had a futurecast back to Pitt today.

Gibbs is still gonna be a battle. FSU has jumped in, as well, but I think Florida is the threat. We do get his last official visit on Jan. 31.

Having signed this excellent class early, anything else is just Febru-gravy. Just think what CGC can do when we start winning games and competing for the ACCCG.

Yeah, not giving up on Gibbs but getting Sims at a vital position of need was more important to the program. Gibbs and Morton would just be a side dish of good ice cream to go with a complete hot fudge sundae with all the toppings.

Sims should help with both of those guys also.

anybody saying they think Gibbs signs elsewhere is talking out of their back side. there is no info out there to say he is more likely to sign at any school more than GT. he has been committed for a long time, even while having offers (supposedly) from bama, ohio st, and florida.

obviously, he is still open, but I've yet to see anything that says he'd rather go elsewhere or he would have done it. bama is probably full at RB and that's probably why he canceled his OV there two weeks ago. florida is probably the biggest challenger, but we obviously have a few big advantages over them.

Juice now, gravy later. I’ll take it.

Can't hurt that Gibbs coach at GT would be a former Dallas Cowboy RB.

Not sure how FL can counter that.

I'll have to double check but I'm pretty sure UF has a prominent alum who was a rather famous Cowboy RB. Not a coach but not a bad counter.

Gainesville is a sweltering place.
One of the reasons we got Jamious was his family's desire to avoid being a running back in the SEC which, in the minds of many running backs, increases your chance of injury and reduces your tread life in the NFL. Let Jamious talk with Gibbs on the last OV.

I agree and I'm only responding because I hope I didn't give that impression.

I think we are the favorite. He could have de-committed a long time ago if he knew he wanted to go some place else once the "big" offers started rolling in. His profile and is offer lists changed months ago.

I dunno what any teenage boy will decide or why, but I think a lot of the talk is the insiders do not see us as part of the club yet and they are both narrow-minded and elitist. They are clinging to the Tech can't recruit model.

Well, we can recruit and we are recruitng and we are not backing down and that feels good.

I like everyone here asking the right question. It is not "Can we compete with UF?" It is, "Can UF compete with us?"

Yeah well we have one of the greatest receivers as an alum but that ain't gonna help our receivers if he isn't coaching them....same with the running back alum.
