2020 Recruiting

I'll be ecstatic if we can keep him, but if he goes to UF, at least he can impact whether or not the dwags play in the SECCG.

Flipping to somewhere like FSU would be the worst case scenario.

Gibbs may be a generational talent IMO. He could play in our first snap of the 2020 season and despite our depth at RB, there's a reason he's priority #1.

Having him, Griffin and Mason rotating in 2-back sets would give us freakishly threatening legs on every down.

Agree. A generational talent is a Herschel, Bo Jackson, Barry Sanders, Tony Dorset, and the like.
He is not one of those players by all means. A lot of that film is against teams that are really bad. He is a good get for us but not a generational players.

I think you're overestimating Gibbs quite a bit.

Generational is a little too flattering for my take as well, but I’m really high on Gibbs. I don’t see separation between his film and the top ranked RBs in the country. There’s a reason why the teams that have claim close to a third of the starting NFL RBs right now (Bama, OSU, UGA) are all in the mix.

He said "may be" a generational talent, and I presume he means generational talent for us, ala Calvin. I don't think that is inaccurate at all. His rating, offer list and film justify that level of optimism. But it's funny any of us talk as if we know.

Hanging on to him would be a huge deal.

Getting him would be big for us. Just let what he does for us dictate exactly how good he really is. You can’t say for a fact that he is or is not a game changer at this point.

I have seen him play in person. Very good vision and agility. He lacks the power and toughness that you need to be "generational" . Herschel and bo was men amongst boys.

Hanging on to him would be a huge deal.

It's not his competition and I think he is a great player. I have no doubt he'll be really good for us. Just don't think he is a can't miss every down back, necessarily.

But keeping him will be great for two reasons. 1 the player on the field doing great things. 2 the perception of him picking GT over some "big boys."

You could do it other ways: form a Florida LLC in Gainesville, then take out billboards between ATL and Athens during OV weekends like the following:
  • A message from the Athens Police: We arrest more college football players than any other police force in America. We're watching you.
  • UGA has the lowest percentage of 4 and 5 star players drafted by the NFL. Plan accordingly. - Athens Local 503 HVAC Union
  • Hey Kirby: Win it next year or you're out. - UGA Football Fans
  • It's been 2 hours. You're almost to Athens.

Move to the bunker board

He looks to me like he has that "extra gear" that Dwyer had
Dwyer had that and could run over other players. Dwyer easily had the best film of any running back we have ever gotten at GT (obviously there's no ELI high school film)

Dwyer was a special player. Unfortunately for him, he played in a system that didn't really show is full potential.
