2020 Recruiting

Gibbs is a totally different runner from Dwyer. There is no comparison between the two. Dwyer was a physical runner with explosive burst. Gibbs has that uncanny ability to not get hit. The other teams that are courting Gibbs are very picky about the running backs they recruit, and they have the resources and staff to make very deep evaluations. Gibbs is the real deal. We need to hang on to him. A gamebreaker can make the difference in a program.

Not saying we shouldn't hold onto Gibbs. We definitely need his elusiveness and burst. He is more Reggie Bush than Dwyer.

Good point...we should quit recruiting him, amirite?

Dedrick mills could have been another Dwyer. Still not sure what happened with him. We could have been sick nasty in 2017 with a little help. Wins over at the time #24 Tennessee and #8 Miami would have been great.

What happened is we had arcane, self handicapping rules. Mills still has it. 762 yards on 5.3 per carry and 10 tds this year. And some people still think marshall was better. We done gone off topic.

Dwyer was the ACC Player of the Year in 2008, First Team All American, and #1 rusher in the ACC with 1328 yds. The system highlighted him pretty well.
Yea great honors but the guy had the talent to be a really elite player at the next level. Unfortunately for him, the system he played in college disabled a lot of natural talent.

Exactly. Very similar with what happened to Trent Richardson.

Maybe the system did him no favors, but he had every chance to be a great pro. Couldn't stay in shape.
