LSU has healthy players back on defense and are great on offense. Clemson is great on both sides of the ball.

It will be a great game.

Hopefully.

I don't think the LSU OL can protect Burrow against the attack that Venables has in store.

I don't see this as a close game. Clemson will win going away.

Totally agree. LSU hasn’t played a team like Clemson.

Clemson will sucker punch The SEC Champ in the mouth. And The SEC Champ won’t know what just happened.

jesus you really care a lot about this. ööööem both
If having a discussion about a game is "really caring a lot" then yeah, it's the single most important thing in my life. All I'm asking is why people are being so dismissive of an LSU team that looked to me like it can steamroll any team they line up against. Some of the answers don't make sense me, so I'm asking for better answers and expressing my surprise.

I am pretty sure this is how conversations work, but since StingTalk has accounted for 99% of my social interactions in the last five years, I guess I don't know for a certainty.

If you like, I can just go back to telling everyone to kill themselves. I'm happy to do it, but first I'd like to finish this discussion and if I'm being honest, that's not going to be possible while I'm distracted like this, so if you could do me a favor, stop responding and end your own life immediately. I'd owe you one.

Alabama was favored by 5.5 points last season and LSU is favored by about the same this year. It should be a good game.

I hope it is. If it's not, obviously the blame will lie with those of you who have responded to me in this thread. Part of me is worried that you may think I'm joking, but the other part of me knows access points in your home which you've never dreamed of. It's all pretty exciting.

Trevor Lawrence has lost one game as a starter all the way back to the 7th grade, a state championship game in HS. I'm gonna stay with the guy who doesn't know how to lose

I want every team in the conference to win, don't understand any one thinking otherwise.

Because they haven't steamrolled everyone they've played? They had single score wins over Bama, Auburn amd Texas.

The Big 12 is literally known for its lack of defense, its not surprising that Burrow could score at will on Oklahoma. Clemson on the other hand is not known for a lack of defense. The 23 points against ohio state is the most they've allowed all season, and unc was the only other team to even hit 20. Pretty much everyone else couldn't score outside of garbage time. Somebody pointed to UGA's defense and how LSU scored on them, but UGA's offense was horrible for the most part, so again its not surprising LSU beat them like they did.

LSU has a great offense and a good defense. Clemson has an offense that can be great but sometimes struggles to get going, and a great defense. This game could go either way, but to build up LSU so much based on their wins over UGA or OU who both have major deficiency on one side of the ball is silly.

The only thing I can think of is that a lot of you didn't actually watch the Peach Bowl, you just saw that the Sooners scored a whole 28 points (which came after the rout was already on) and you assume, wrongly, that they meant anything. You're combining that with what you remember of watching them in October, and practically ancient season statistics. Honestly you sound like Clemson fans in denial of the monster you have to defend your title against, and I just don't understand why. I want Clemson to win too, but not so badly that I'm going to delude myself with obviously faulty logic.
The whole personal attack thing makes this seem like less of the “conversation” you seek

also please clarify if I should or should not kill my self

personal attack
 What? Where? I'm not saying I couldn't have done this accidentally, that happens sometimes. I swear, I can never really tell if all of you really do get this sensitive when someone tries to have a regular conversation with you, or what. I don't see anyone in this thread who has an excuse for not realizing I'm sincere, I've told nearly all of you to end your lives violently on at least one occasion for absolutely no reason whatsoever. I went and looked up Ohio State's defensive statistics yesterday, for Christ's sake. Do you now how long that took? Is it because I used words like "delude" and "denial" and "faulty logic" and "Peach Bowl"?

also please clarify if I should or should not kill my self
Was this rhetorical?

I don't think any of you guys are looking at the matchup the same way I am, which is fine of course and if I had to actually bet on it, I'll probably end up being wrong here. But for clarity's sake, I'm not ignoring the stuff like the bolded lines above. It's just that the points of reference you guys are using are very general and often don't even apply to the teams we're discussing. Whether the Big 12 is known for bad defense or not doesn't change the fact that LSU looked more impressive to me than Oklahoma looked bad. Is Burrow going to throw another dozen touchdowns against Clemson? No. But he didn't do that against Furman in September, he did it against the #4 team in the country in the CFP. I don't find games like LSU vs Alabama, Auburn, and Texas relevant to this game, at least not when they've played two games in the last month and they indicate a team that is as hot as they come. I guess I haven't let this go because I'm genuinely surprised you're all putting so much weight on games and stats from months ago and seemingly disregarded the massacres LSU has committed in MBS this month.

Don't worry, we will be fine. We've gone over it. I'm pretty stoked to get your golf clubs. I play the cheap ones.

LSU squeaked past a beat up Alabama. Clemson wins by 2 scores
