2020 Recruiting

Some news on Jayson Jones that makes his situation make more sense. Alabama is trying to blue shirt him. That's huge for us. Jayson prefers defense and Alabama leans toward seeing him as an offensive lineman. I think we could actually win him over!! Sounds to me that if Alabama would straight up take him with a regular scholarship offer, that he would have already signed with them.

Probably not coming here but could affect the Gibbs recruitment in a positive way for GT.

He wants to major in computer science. This should be a wrap.

this poor kid... he acts like Alabama hasn't dropped him and that it is his decision to look around at other schools. And he wants to major in computer science. And his Dad has crimson-colored glasses on and thinks his kid is a sure-fire NFL early draftee.

fwiw, the blue shirt rules don't seem like they apply to Jayson. Blue shirt means they were not recruited (Albany Casey for us this year.) That means no in-home visit and no official visit to the school by the athlete (he hasn't officially visited Bama.) But, it's Bama so I'm sure they'll get their way if they want.

His social media is definitely lacking any photos of him with Bama's coaching staff.

I dont have a great feeling about him right now. I think his dad wants him at a big name school.
 
Jayson picked up an Oregon crystal ball fwiw. I actually see that as a positive, because it means others are seeing that a flip is more likely....they just got the destination wrong.

He has an Oregon visit Jan 24, so I think that guy is just guessing the last visit gets him.

His dad is wanting cash in his lottery ticket, thinking a big name school can help get his son in the NFL. I understand that thinking, but disagree with it. Jayson would be featured on our defense for 3-4 years. That would give him a great opportunity to impress scouts.

NFL scouts have had good things to say about Collins, so far. It is just going to take time to change the narrative, unfortunately.

Collins will market the heck out of these kids to the pros. He sees it as a part of his job description.

yeah I don't know the level of contact but I thought some Bama staff had been to his home. Eother way, it's hard to imagine a guy who has been committed for nearly a year and has this photo can claim he was not recruited.

Missed that one. Lol. Yeah, I am sure Saban has crossed his t's, though.
 
It's been reported by Kelly Quinlan that Bryce Gowdy was killed today after being hit by a Train.... Terrible Awful news and the poor family.
