Outside of the playoff, the trifecta would be closing the season by beating UGA, winning the ACC, and winning the Orange Bowl. We accomplished two of those in 2014, and nearly all three.

I would have put 2009 over it if we had beaten UGA. Would've been a 12-win season.

I would put them in this order.

1) 2014 : Thrilling win over uga, unstoppable in the Orange Bowl, best end of season ranking

2) 1998: Win over uga and a win over Notre Dame in the Gator. Only the blowout loss to FSU and head scratching season opener drop it down a notch.

3) 2009: Obviously, the ACC championship is huge, but the loss to uga and getting stifled by lame Iowa really left a bad taste in my mouth.

1998. One random loss to start the season. Huge win over top 10 UVA to set up gameday in Atlanta, was the de facto ACC Championship Game. Even though we lost, FSU would go on to play in the national championship game.

Beat UGA in Athens to end the seven-year streak. Beat Notre Dame in the Gator Bowl, which at the time was a tier-1 bowl under the BCS. Finished in the top 10.

2014 was awesome for all the same reasons but it wasn't until the very end that things really came together and the hype was real. Being able to go to the Orange Bowl as the ACC number 2 kind of gives it some undeserved shine but was still amazing.

2009 would have been at the top with either a win over UGA or Iowa. Not many single memories top pulling the oranges out of my socks and throwing them on the field.

2014 was good but losing to fsu SUCKED!
Ehh not really. They were on a 26 game win streak and current national champions, and we went toe to toe with them despite not having one of our best players. I feel like we could have played that game 10 times and won 4 or 5, plus we gave them payback in 2015.

2014 was definitely the best of those years- the losses were by a single score, and the end run taking down a top 20 Clemson and two top 10 SEC teams was awesome.

2014 was pretty epic. We started slowly, but by the end of the season we were absolutely dominant. I'm not sure if I've ever seen a better college offense. If we had a slightly better defense, we would have been in title contention. UGA, FSU, Miss St... it didn't matter who the opponent was - they couldn't stop us.
