Hopefully, Rhule can steer his friend towards some Texas talent for the 2021 and 2022 classes.
Doubt it. Joey McGuire will probably take over the team. McGuire was the biggest name in Texas football winning back to back state championships before joining the Baylor staff. Genius move for Matt to hire him to help with in state recruiting.

They close friends according to Geoff and Matt in interviews.
This is good for us. A pro connection like this is huge. For one example I could easily see Panthers using our facilities annually when they play Falcons. The benefit for us is schedule recruits to visit same time. Cow colleges wouldnt be able to do this.

I would welcome this level of success so quickly. I also think Collins has several people on staff who could take over and continue a similar strategy/trajectory.
Maybe; but I am not confident there is anyone on our staff or elsewhere in coaching that can market, sell, and recruit GT the way Collins has.

We'll see where this goes, but generally college coaches win by recruiting and having players that're bigger, stronger and faster than the other guy. College coaches who win with game strategy, like CPJ, are a rarity. Rhule has been successful fast enough wherever he goes that he might be one of those rarities.

This is also why in the NFL where the talent gap is razor thin instead of wide as a Buick, bigtime college coaches often get their tails whipped. Saban comes to mind. Spurrier and Bobby Petrino too. Pete Carroll is an exception because he paid his players in both college and the pros.

I hope Collins works his way to getting a NFL offer; but he won't leave because GT is his dream job.
If Collins is successful here (and I hope he is) he's far more likely to be offered by another college than the NFL. His strength is marketing, branding and recruiting. That's not what an NFL team needs in a head coach.

Pretty sure that when the Panthers come to play here vs the falcons they will have no reason to “practice” more than one day at any facility other than MBS.

Super Bowl participant? Perhaps different.

Apparently Rhule let let the Baylor team know via text message after all of the reports, I'm sure.
