Glad he's not here anymore but good luck to a good Tech man.

Didn’t he have the corners play 10 yards off the LOS on 3rd and short? Never understood that scheme.

Ted Roof has seemed to be a very good coach at stopping pro-style offenses. There seem to be more and more of those popping up in the SEC East. Good hire.

Now if they can recruit 4 star D players it could work! Marginal players? SEC? Idk. See Auburn. See Vandy. Good for him tho. Vandy's a nice spot.

Never met CTR in person, didn't see him play at GT.
Did see him walk with the team at YJA the night of 'Miracle on Techwood'. Did not fit the image of a college coach to me. JMHO.

When you’re the DC at Tech under Paul Johnson or at the DC at Vanderbilt, your defensive players aren’t going to be as talented 11 v. 11 as most of the offenses you play or have the depth as those teams. When you aren’t as gifted, being aggressive and tying to force turnovers is the equalizer. He didn’t do it at Tech, and the team paid dearly for it, and unless he changes and does something new at Vanderbilt, the soft cushions and lack of aggressiveness is going to get Vandy beat into the ground. Now maybe bend but don’t break will help them not lose 65-7 in the SEC ever, but they’ll just die a much slower death and lose 42-7 while the offense stands on the sidelines watching.

He is a quarters coach. I dislike his scheme so much I studied it at tech. It was quarter quarter half or quarters cvg the bulk of the time. Worse yet is when he did this he didn’t coach to see it then believe it he coached to bail at snap before any read. So. He employed a conservative defense by nature then insult to injury asked em to back pedal at snap not wait and see first.

he stinks. Sorry. He does. At one point i think i pulled a stat. In the many years as dc he has had only 1-2 ranked in the top 30 or something like that. Most are in the back half of the ncaa. Don’t recall the exact stat it was. But u get the jist. In fact the best years as dc in general is when he came in for one year and left. In general.

dont even get me started on what he asked the dl to do. Sigh
