The offensive line in the cesspool will be fine. They have depth for days. Need more skills positions and team leaders to bail. Seems like it is limited to the offensive side of the ball for now.

Kirby Smart is not a head coach. His ineptitude is shadowed by the sheer talent on his team. He is a defensive coordinator and recruiter, period. Watch Kirby Smart on the sideline while his defense in on the field. Instead of looking ahead in the game he is pushing his DC to the side and calling the plays. His offensive coordinators take a team of nothing but 5 stars and turn them into fart noises. Since Kirby came to Athens it has been run left, run right, throw to the check down, pray for a missed coverage by the safety.

They have plenty of depth but I don't care who you are...when you lose 4 out of 5 starters on your offensive line AND you have to break in a new quarterback, that hurts. Then throw in that their schedule is flipped and I don't think it bodes that well for them.
They have Virginia week 1, Bama week 3, and Auburn week 6 this year. So instead of their usual cupcake game after the Florida game to rest up for Auburn, they now have South Carolina and Tennessee in back-to-back weeks after UF. This is their schedule this year:
  • Sept. 7 Virginia (Atlanta)
  • Sept. 12 ETSU
  • Sept. 19 @ Alabama
  • Sept. 26 UL-Monroe
  • Oct. 3 Vanderbilt
  • Oct. 10 Auburn
  • Oct. 17 @ Missouri
  • Oct. 24 Open Date
  • Oct. 31 Florida (Jacksonville)
  • Nov. 7 @ South Carolina
  • Nov. 14 Tennessee
  • Nov. 21 @ Kentucky
  • Nov. 28 Georgia Tech
I can see 3 losses in there easily this year and possibly 4. Hell, it would make my year if they lose 6 or so with the loss to us at the end of the year being the cherry on top.

Virginia will give them a game. I know they lost Perkins but UGA's going to be breaking in a new QB and a new OLine as well, while UVA returns some of their O line, I believe. I don't expect the Hoos to win but I expect it may be close enough in the second half to make Cavman put down his Zima and cheer heartily for a bit.

Also, SC will have their QB back because he was just a freshman this year. That means this kid has a shot at being a 4-year UGA killer (me likey!). And Tennessee was finally starting to look like a somewhat decent team again by the 2nd half of the season for Pruitt. Here's hoping they have their stuff together and put an annual butt-whuppin on the dwags.

Its weird. Like the offense and defense are entirely separate teams. Defense largely opting to stay while O bails.

Losing that OC to Tennessee probably cost them a shot at a MNC considering the inexplicable incompetence of their 2019 offense. That was a big loss in hindsight.

Anyway, Fromm is making a good decision.
1. He is regressing under the Dwags handoff O.
2. Losing everyone around him isnt going to make it better. One year can be a fluke but two mediocre years is a trend.
3. Next year has probably even better QBs coming out.
4. Hes probably a career backup at best and a single rookie contract at worst. He'll maximize his potential the earlier he gets out.

But they have the new protein enhanced Powerade, so that should help s&c

I’m no fan of UGA, but I would like to see us get closer than, what, 52-7, before we dismiss them and Smart as failures.
