You are suggesting that I expect Georgia to have a good season. I don't. The offensive line isn't going to be the reason why, though. The starting center + the entire unit from the sugar bowl all return and Luke is a good coach. They have an abundance of returning talent. Pretty sure there were 0 seniors on the offensive line this year. Don't be surprised if they pick someone up from the transfer portal or JUCO. Th skills of the line will be fine. How they work under the new QB will be determined. He isn't going to be asked to do much. Their biggest loss this year is Blankenship. I get that you are passionate about the offensive line and all I expect this is going to either fall on deaf ears or turn into a pissing match. Take what I've said for however much you value it.
Junior left tackle Andrew Thomas, redshirt sophomore right tackle Isaiah Wilson, and fourth-year junior left guard Solomon Kindley have already declared for the 2020 NFL Draft. Cade Mays, the 5-star freshman offensive lineman who started 11 games entered the transfer portal. Ben Cleveland was academically ineligible for the bowl game so there's definitely a question about him.

I think Solomon Kindley did play in the bowl game but regardless, losing either 4 or 5 starters from your line is going to hurt. It's going to be difficult for them because of depth. A single injury or two to those guys who played in the bowl game and you're playing guys who are less experienced than even those guys were.

I suppose we will find out in several months which prediction is true. My personal opinion on order of quality for georgia going into next year is defense > running back > offensive line > wide receiver > quarterback > kicker. I expect the qb will struggle a lot on offense once teams figure out that Pickens is always the #1 route. Defense is going to keep them competitive in every game. Good stable of running backs and o-linemen. Kicker is the biggest concern. I don't think anyone has kicked the ball in Athens except Blankenship for the past 4 years.

They picked up a couple of highly ranked WR's in this class. Specifically I was reading a review of the Under Armour All American game and they were talking about one kid being noticeably faster than everybody else at WR and that kid had just signed with the dwags. So I think the next QB might have some targets.

I'm just hoping he has no time to set his feet and find them because the OL is letting defensive players through like a sieve.

Dumpster fire is relative. 9-3? 8-4?

I do share your dream though, and it is glorious

This pains me to say, but I believe their defense is going to prevent them from actual dumpster fire territory. The good news is many of their fans are idiots who will believe 8-4 is a dumpster fire.

Now we, not being idiots, realize it is not as likely for them to win 10 or the SEC considering the losses. And a handful of the smarter dwags will try to temper expectations. DO NOT LET THEM DO THAT.

It is the job of every GT fan in Georgia to spread positive disinformation about the 2020 UG"A" team. Do you enjoy shadenfreude? Hell yeah you do!!!

Here are your talking points. Spread them to every Dwag fan you know. Dont let them temper expectations. Raise their expectations. By September I want them thinking the MNC is a given and reserving hotel rooms for the playoffs.
1. The only reason UGA didnt win it all was Fromm. Coach had a Fromm blind spot and that's why they let Fields get away and why the offense struggled as Fromm regressed. Fromm going pro fixes that and totally takes the brakes off the Georgie Offense.
2. Georgia will have the best skill position talent in the SEC. Loaded. Nobody in the east is close and the west is gonna beat themselves up. The only problem the QB and the OC will have is struggling to get all that talent enough touches.
3. Everyone good is losing players: thats how it goes. Nobody is more loaded with replacement talent than UGA. Players leaving dont matter much when you are backfilling with 5 stars. The 2020 line will have more stars than the 2019 line. Who in the East had a better OL than UGA's backup OL? Who? Nobody is who.
That Bennett kid is the Second Coming of John Elway.

If Pickens stays eligible. Dude had more receptions than IQ points in that Baylor game.

You’re talking about a college that kept an illiterate kid eligible as a communications major
yes. i was thinking more about poor decisions on or off the field than actual grades.

All of this. Turning over almost the entire offensive line is typically a recipe for disaster. Add in a new QB, playing in the most physical league. Then add the fact that their stud RB declared early. Sure they have a lot of unproven talent, but everything above tells me they will lay some duds on offense. Their defense will be great again, but 2020 will not be one of their best seasons...and their fans will turn on Kirby quickly.

Didnt feel the need to start a new thread about it but Newman to UGAg is official.

Newman is a good RPO QB, but I still don't think it's a good fit for the dwags. How many times do you think their 5* RB's are going to like taking fake handoffs to get hit in the hole only for the QB to pull and get the yardage? How are UGAg's pro-style qb commits and recruits going to feel about the offense changing up?Newman is decent but a pocket passer he is not. He's an ok passer but nothing overwhelmingly great. When he played against Clemson he was 6/14 with 45 yards and 2 INT's. He led Wake to a 4-4 record in the mighty Coastal division. UGAg picking up QBs from mid-level ACC team is lol-worthy. Grayson Lambert 2.0 incoming.

You guys are really overselling how much of an impact the OL losses will be IMO. Georgia is losing most of their DL production + 1-2 LB/SS + 1 FS and there hasn’t been a hint of concern on the defense. Luke will have the offensive line ready to play. They have somewhere in the neighborhood of 16 returning linemen, most of whom have playing experience.

Wake is not in Coastal.

Newman sounds decent, we will see how it works out:
6-foot-4 and 230 pounds ...

This past season, Newman completed 60.9% of his attempts for 2,868 yards with 26 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. He added 574 rushing yards with six more scores.

Newman ranked second in the ACC in total offense with 286.8 yards per game and fifth in passing with 252.7 yards per game.

Not sure why you are doubling down on the OL losses not having an impact. They are basically playing an entirely new line. Yes, they have highly rated players to replace them. But it is foolish not to expect some drop in production, especially early in the season. And if they start having the same kind of injuries we had in 2019, the drop will be significant.

I think your take is about right. uga fans have really talked themselves into thinking he is better than both Fromm and Fields. Lol

He only gained the starting job at Wake late in the 2018 season because the other guy got injured. He struggled against good teams. He may be banking on UGAg having a better OL than Wake and better WR's

He's doubling down because he graduated from The Al Davis and Jerry Jones Football School
