It's on Monday to avoid conflict (TV viewers) with the NFL playoffs and it's on at 8pm for the west coast. I think we can all agree that Monday evening is a less-than-desirable time slot.

If you ran the NCAA and you had a few minutes between pleasuring Ohio State and Alabama, when would you schedule this game?

Monday at 700. Push it back to 800 if a west coast team is playing.

Ive always thought that the Final Four should begin on a Friday and have The Championship game on Sunday afternoon.

I just remembered not being too thrilled when we had to play in the championship game on a Monday.

Football should probably be kept on a Monday so it’s not competing with nfl

Was it always pushed out 2 weeks or is it just this year? Feels longer than years past.

I think it depends on when the 2nd Monday falls after the games.

The semi-final games this year on Dec 28 were the earliest that they have been. Other years have been Jan 1 twice, Dec 31 twice, and Dec 29 once. Also, this is the latest that the game has been played, with the 2015 game being on Jan 12 after Jan 1 semi-finals.

College football should always be played on Saturday, except for big bowls on New Year's Day. The semifinals should be played on New Year's Day, and the final should be played the first Sat after that which is at least 7 days later.

Ok, boomer.

The weekend between the NFL conference championships and the Super Bowl. Retire the Pro Bowl.
