Swofford has not asked, but if he did I would go with:
9/5 - at Virginia Tech
9/12 - Gardner Webb
9/19 - UCF
9/26 - at UNC
10/3 - at Pitt
10/10 - Clemson
10/17 - Duke (Homecoming)
10/24 - at Syracuse
10/31 - Miami (love to move to Thursday night, either 10/29 or even 11/5)
11/7 - Off
11/14 - Notre Dame
11/21 - UVA
11/28 - at the Cesspool
Don’t want Clemson first game. Don’t want home game first week with three straight September games at BDS. Want a home game on 11/21 for Senior Day.

The odds of GT opening against Clemson are very high. It will be 3 of the last 4 years if so.

Given that last year's game was a 5 hour infomercial for Clemson where it felt like some of the ESPN personalities didn't even know who Clemson was playing that day, would you want to move the game into the Benz along with ND? If you're going to be Clemson's infomercial hype machine / sacrifice to the Fuhrer Mickey Mouse to needle Comcast in strategic markets yet again, why not cash in to the fullest? IIRC it would be worth another $10m to the GTAA. I'd like to point out that's enough dough to fire Josh Pastner right now.

We have to play Syracuse or Clemson for Week 1.
In addition Syracuse cannot play Weeks 1-3 at home because the Carrier Dome is closed for renovation. This really limits the amount of moves that can be made. In theory BC could shuffle things around and be available Week 1. Somebody in the ACC appears to be getting a bye Week 1 as it stands right now.

Would I want to move that one into the Benz? No.

Schedule the Cuse and then let then figure out where to play 9/5..... plenty of Pro stadiums available. Keep Clem's son available for a a great Saturday night or even Thursday night in ATL

First weekend will be August 29. So I guess that means we will have two bye weeks again? And it is a near certainty that we open with Clemson as others have noted.

The first big weekend start will be Labor Day Saturday, September 5. According to the AJC article, there will only be one bye week per team this year, so a team that opens with a bye will have to play 12 weeks without a break.

As much as I hate opening with Clemson again and having 3 straight September home games, I certainly hope that's the case rather than a Week 1 bye. This is a 1 bye year so if we end up getting the week 1 bye, then we play every week from there out. Unless we can swing a week 0 game like Miami-UF last year.

EDIT: A week zero game wouldn't be the worst idea. You essentially get to start fall camp a week earlier than everybody else and get that 2nd bye.

That's technically "Week 0". Not sure what you have to do to get a game that week but I'd be ok with it especially if we have to take a week 1 bye.

On the future football schedule site I see that Virginia Tech has now moved the Liberty game to 9/5. That would indicate we will either be off Week 1, which would be terrible, or it will be a trip to Clemson on Labor Day Weekend. That is an awful thing for the ACC to do to us again.

It's in Atlanta, but otherwise correct. GT's only way to avoid the bye or opening against Clemson 3 out of 4 years is to open at home against Syracuse. Given that Comcast hasn't picked up the ACCN and Comcast has a significant presence in Atlanta I fully expect Fuhrer Mickey to lean on the ACC and force GT vs Clemson again just to have another entire offseason of b*tching at Comcast from two of the more football centric fanbases again. Mickey doesn't give a flying fornication about how we or Stansbury feel about that. The ACC league office has **NEVER** done GT any scheduling favors, unless you consider making sure Duke and UNC have a bye before playing Paul Johnson a favor.

Week Zero is horrible and no bye week is even worse. Expect Little Girl to try to mess with us.
