2021 Recruiting

Ahhh...I found the problem. Getting what you pay for, it seems.

I mean, his Twitter doesn’t give much away and the usual message boards seem quiet on him. Didn’t know about the visits or not being #1. Getting more than I pay for, it seems.

Damn, North Gwinnett is stacked!!

This kid, plus Josh Downs and Jared Ivey from this year. And they had a kid who WAS the #1 0r #2 2020 prospect in the country after his sophomore year WHEN HE DECIDED TO QUIT FOOTBALL TO PLAY BASEBALL.

Unfortunately, he's headed to USC-E and not GT (even though his dad is a GT grad). Too bad. Great kid and super athlete.

The fact that North Gwinnett is good blows my mind. When I was there, we were a triple A school that had only made the playoffs once in their 50 year history. Now it's a powerhouse, crazy...

Been a lot of migration of the middle/upper middle class northward in Gwinnett over the last 20 years. Stone Mountain & Norcross to Lilburn, Snellville, Lawrenceville; then to Buford and Suwannee, now some even going out to Dacula and Loganville. Most everyone else went to Alpharetta, Milton, and Cumming. Kind of sad for the older, innermost neighborhoods of Gwinnett but migration is part of life.

I know a few coaches in the area. Recruiting in high school is bigger than one would expect.
So much in fact, there’s positions on the HS staff these days for recruitment. Like a college would have but scaled down. The coaches do other things along with it as well. But are designated recruiting coordinators

Grayson got in trouble for recruiting right after I graduated. Actually had a few schools say publicly they wouldn't play Grayson until something was done about it. It was always obvious while I was there. We sucked for so long, and then were State Championship contenders within the span of a year or two.

Won the state championship the year after I went through.

Appears it’s several members from the Christopher Columbus Explorer footballs team that wanted to come up and check out #404TheCulture.

It’s part of our open door policy, that will continue to pay dividends in recruiting down the road.
