I think it makes a lot of sense for a kid to put out his top 5-7. That way it is publicly clear who he is interesting in; it should help the recruiting process. Maybe keep some teams (and their idiot fans) from bugging him all the time.

The ones that put out list of 10-20 and then a 2nd list and then a final list are a little more in it for the show instead of trying to maximize the process.

That's a pretty accurate way of my view.

I do understand that it's a way to market yourself, and it's not to say that I don't want them on the team. Just makes me question a little.

The ones who do the cascading lists every 4 weeks are also ones likely to flip on signing day, I've observed in the past.

I agree with you - they should market themselves and they get to be "liked" by their family when they post this stuff.

Fair enough. Although with 5 possible OVs wouldnt it make sense before those even start to have a "top X" list where X is at least one over 5?

No doubt. Picking this kid for the argument was probably unfair. Oh well

Iveys teammate who just visited a week or so ago. 4 star OLB and a top 100 player.

Getting predictions to end up in athens. But he’s supposed to be taking his OVs so maybe we can change that.

How does this happen?
I am not clear on the rules on this, actually. CJ Dixon from Grayson is going there, too. Assuming they enter college with all their eligibility, it seems like a great deal. Brand new private prep chool from what I gather.

first you have to flunk 12th grade. then enroll in a private school that specializes in handing grades to elite athletes that need good grades.
If you flunk 12th grade, you've got a long way to go to enter any classroom at GT. This kid needs to get seriously dug in right now. Screw football. He has a chance at setting himself up for life. I wish I could shake these kids into reality sometimes.

I would only add that his network of support needs to dig in around him too. The next 12 months will determine the next 40 years for him, and not because of the NFL.
