Big Improvement Predicted

I feel like you'd have to redshirt either Gibbs or Griffin. Unless Howard is just that far below Griffin in terms of talent/development (not how I saw it this year). We have Mason (RS-Jr), Howard (Sr), Griffin (So), Malloy (RS-So), an assortment of Abacks lost in the transition, and then Gibbs (Fr) this year. Will Gibbs be good enough to be second "ATL" or better? If not, we may need to separate him and Griffin in terms of class. Of course, I'm not a NCAA coach, so I'll let them make that decision.

You should start adding to your calculations the possibility that our kids will start going pro in 3 years, not at the end of their eligibility.

No way. They'll all 3 play. And some of those on your list will probably be playing elsewhere.

We were in a position to win 5 but couldn’t close. If you buy that, it’s not unreasonable to expect 7 wins this year. All the usual reasons... another year in the O, 25% less option players, we’re 10lbs heavier etc...

It sucks to watch top players leave early, but it’s a strong indicator that the coaching staff recruited the right guys and coached them properly.

Good point. We hadn't needed to consider that as of late, at least on offense.

We better be Bowlin this year!!!!! Go Jackets!!
I hope they qualify for a bowl game, but improvement doesn’t necessarily result in more wins. If they look and play more competently on offense and don’t get blown out in any games, that’s a big improvement. It might only net them 5 wins total but it’s all progress nonetheless.

Well, now we hear Hansen is gone so the OL takes a hit.Lets see who is on the field in Sept before we get too over-reaching.

Last year was a culture building exercise. Let's hope that now that the culture is established, the guys can focus more on the techniques and nuances it takes to be consistently competitive.

Playing in Shreveport on Christmas Eve or the day after sucks. We do not want that. CFP or NY’s Day or stay home is better.

I get that going to Shreveport around the holidays is kind of a bummer, but staying home means that we likely lost 7 or more games. Look at the schedule and tell me which 7 teams the players would rather lose to than rearrange their Christmas celebrations a bit. Not to mention the benefits of additional practice, free stuff, and a little something more to sell to recruits.
