In terms of his struggles or his decision to leave the team? It was pretty much a given he wasn't going to be on scholarship this year. Schollies given to walk-ons have to be re-earned year to year. What happened with his kicking, I dunno. 2018 was a small sample size to begin with, only 9 attempts and mostly short ones.
2018 was pretty decent sample size. 9 for 9 on field goals with distances of 48, 41, 40 yards (based on what I can gleen from his ramblinwreck bio); and 38 for 38 on extra point attempts. The 48 and the 40 were to put the UVA game into overtime and then to win it. I have no idea what happened to him in 2019.

Haven't seen it mentioned anywhere here but Tobias Oliver is now a DB. Practicing at Corner for the Spring.

That is something I did not see coming. He is a fierce warrior, I wish him the best.
I'm pretty sure this means he had a pick in practice yesterday. Or maybe a fumble recovery. It usually means a turnover of some sort when you get a "Get the Ball" post:

Isn't that what was said when he moved to WR? I would thought he would fit better at safety than CB. He kinda has that Ken Swilling look to him.
we are LOADED at safety. Would be much harder to see the field competing with Juanyeh Thomas, Tariq Carpenter, Kaleb Oliver, Derrick Allen, Jaylon King, and now Charlie Thomas.

really awesome stat from Tori M column re first practice:

Getting stronger: It would not be the start of spring practice without Collins commending his strength and conditioning staff on the work it did with the team in the offseason. “Our team is built and forged in January and February," Collins said, and he came prepared with stats to back that up. According to Collins, when he and his staff first took over the team at the start of 2019, there were only three people in the organization who could do 20 reps of 225 pounds on the bench. "One of those was our 188-pound strength coach," Collins noted of Lewis Caralla. Now, Collins is happy to report there are six players who can bench press 225 pounds more than 30 times and that nearly half of the roster is able to bench the baseline 225 pounds 20 times that the staff started with last January. "The size, the strength, all of those things is starting to look the way we want to look around here,” Collins said.
