I have stated on here that I don't think NCAA or NFL will play this fall. This got me thinking. How will NFL determine the draft order next season? Seems to me that Clemson would take big hit with the loss of QB & RB. I figured we would be in the mix for the Coastal in 2021. Lots to think about.

The NFL could sequester their players and play in front of empty stands and pull big ratings. I don’t see college pulling that off so yes college football is at risk.

Clemson frosh QB is Cam 2.0. Anybody thinking they’re gonna regress in 2021 is kidding themselves. They’ve literally surpassed Bama as the best program in the country. And they’ll continue to roll until the NCAA decides to actually investigate the comments already on record from within their AA.

no way NFL manbabies obey any kind of sequester or curfew. they can't even do it for the super bowl..

And more bullshit gloom and doom; keep buying into the hysteria, that will definitely make things better.

Maybe it’s my desensitization from being a professional firefighter, but the goddamn worst case scenario talk that is all the rage right now does nothing to help, only causes more anxiety.

There are other preventable causes of sickness and death that far out number this situation, yet our entire ööööing country doesn’t shut down for these.

for öööös sake

fire away ööööheads

I agree 100% but it's like a snowball rolling downhill. This thing is picking up steam. If they reported the flu like they have this god help us. Even by July when the numbers should be down just can't see anyway any sports will go without a vaccine. Reading through all the bullshit this virus has 0.6% mortality rate. It seems that 70-80% of the infected have little symptoms. It's the final 10% that seek hospitalization. Almost all of these folks have health issues. I say determine who the 10% are and try & go back to some kind of normal. Not going to happen.

Well I'm also not a professional firefighter. However, this is all part of my plan to tank the market so I can buy in at 10000 then retire in 5 years when it recovers.

I would appreciate it if you would take your optimism way the hell over there so that my scheme can unfold as intended. Quit giving these nubs hope.

Or until they play a team like LSU again.

Some dbag on a neighborhood listserve today that read:
"Georgia Tech cancels selected fall football games, including UGA
It's the only way that they can avoid losing!"

My response: "One day late. THWG!"

My neighborhood is less infested than most in metro Atlanta due to a very high level of highly educated professionals. Most probably don't even know what THWG stands for.

Two serious answers to a non-serious thread.

1. NFL has two options on determining draft order. They can either repeat the prior year, or they can select the order by random draw. The NHL, for example, used random draw for their lost season a while back. The random draw can be equal chances or it can be weighted for prior year performance. The last is what I personally would favor, but it is their biz and they can do what their owners want.

2. Every year CGC has to work with the team and recruit his players is a year closer to team excellence, but don't rely/hope Clemson is going to tumble due to a lockout. They are recruiting new players just like everyone else, and they get good recruiting results every year. We have to take the championship away, not rely on it defaulting to us.

For a second I thought the same, but to play you have to have a healthy participant. There are now a five minute tests. Pass that, you are in. Don’t, you lose pay that week.

Young people are not dying but they still get sick and a hospital bed. Otherwise I am in agreement.

well something positive. If every team chose every fourth ticket holder as being in for a specific game, we could all do social distancing and see a few this Fall.

Here me out on this one, guys:

What if once this is said and done, Americans reprioritize the importance of sports in our lives and the shift to more online learning breaks the semiprofessional status quo of college athletics?
