The BYU game

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">ok .. this is just sad. LOL

you have your georgia teams confused son. why don't you consult one of your many wives. one of them might know more about college football than you.

Yes Herschel Walker, and Bailey, but then we also have Carson Palmer, Steve Spurrier, Joe Montana, and Michael Vick.

OK I'll drop the smack-sorry again- Must understand we (MWC) feel a bit slighted with the BCS situation killing our post season opportunities so we take a few shots at the BCS conferences when we can. Whats the Yellow Jacket feelings towards a national playoff?

Im with you Patriot. I consider BYU fans to be smarter than that. By the way patriot, how is practice going?

Im all for a playoff. The only problem is that it would extend the season (not really a problem), but would cause me to be glued to the TV and be worthless on saturday's for a few more weeks.

byublue... your conference is a joke that is why the BCS snubs you. BYU would of been axed by seven if not eight of the ACC teams last year.

Player for Player GT has more talent than BYU. Home field is the only thing you guys have going for you as noted by the current point spread of 4 points at Las Vegas casinos.

Walker and Bailey played for UGA not GT. I can only think of three players from BYU that made any kind of impact in the NFL... McMahon & Steve Young. The other would be Travis Hall which I only know because he plays for the Falcons.

Tech has had many, many more NFL players. I am certain we have more players on current NFL rosters than BYU.

I fully expect us to come into Provo and blow right through that swiss cheese defense you guys are hoping will slow someone down. With a veteran offensive line we should be able to move the ball at will forcing you to load the box and then we beat you with Play action and a few deep passes.

As for GT's secondary... it will be less experienced than last year but much, much more athletic. Look for the corners to be play lots of man to man and have at least two picks in the game.

Good luck on your season and I hope you used a "pencil" to circle the Tech game as a win.

Its going good GTFish, thanks for asking! I get really excited about this time of year (everybody is 0-0). Last year, I left a program where we had been very successful and went to a program that had be down for a while in hopes of rebuilding it. We had the worst year that I've ever experienced last year ( missed the playoffs for the first time in my career). We had to hit the weight room and cut a few thugs. I think this year is shaping up to be much better!
You seem to have good contacts on campus. I enjoy reading all of your posts!

Well, Mr. Blue, BYU appears to one of OUR weaker opponents, so it should be an interesting match-up.
And yes, we are loaded at the offensive line and at running back!
<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">I think we can beat BYU, but loaded at Running Back? Not.

OK, "Loaded" may be a bit strong, but 4 Tailbacks that we know can move the ball.
I'm not worried about that...It's Bilbo that I question.........
Remember "Major League" with "Wild Thing" humming wild fast balls b/4 he got glasses???.........

Wow, Ylo, that reference to plural wives was the hardest blast of early season smack I have ever seen. Man, this board (with all the exchanged off season, in-house shooting must have gotten you into late season form already. Good one!!

ByBlu: Notice that y'all are picked fourth in your conference this year. Your talk of BYU prowess does not speak too highly for your conference...How does New Mexico and Colorado State sound to you? Aren't they and Air Force picked to make your season go further south?

Looks like beesnut is shooting the smack now but thats ok I deserved it. As far as BYU being waxed by the ACC last year- I would certainly hope so- that was our worst season in many moons. As far as being snubbed by the BCS - that is clearly a case of a cartel having control of the money and not willing to let it go. If you on the receiving end you would understand how unfair it realy was. Is it really fair for Duke to receive 1 million plus in bowl money without going to a bowl and a top ten school having pay to go to a bowl? It's not really fair is it? A playoff would give everyone an equal chance.

Patriot, hope everything goes well for you this season. Do you plan on getting to all the GT home games this year. If you havent already, im sure you (being a high school coach) can get in the AA and check things out before games. I know Tech is always welcome to future contacts and high school connections. Just thought it might be something neat you could do on a saturday if you have time.

for techsamilion-- the many wives joke is old and stale, It's about as original as calling Southerners rednecks, hardly great stuff.
As far as those other teams, I believe they can run with the ACC. Ask Colorado.

We would like nothing better than your boys trying to run the ball all day. Hope you got lots of running backs to do it because historically flat lander teams seem to quit late third quarter in Provo. We are rebuilding and have a new defensive coach so this shouldn't be a typical BYU team however GT appears to be one of our weaker opponents early in the season. If we dont win this one it will be a long season.
<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">Get ready for a long season then... because BYU will not win the game against Tech... and it wont be as close as last years game... take that to Vegas with you..

Blu, I am counting slowing and trying to bite my tongue at the same time: I will not get ugly, I will not get ugly.

Some jokes never grow stale. Don't have to ask Colorado anything. Still looking for your answer.

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">alright, now you're talking sense.

the BCS is really an unfair setup i agree. life isn't fair either.

think about BYU. is it fair that all other college teams have 18-22 year old kids while your school has 25 year olds playing college ball?

well, i think the PAC 10 will expand and incorporate BYU and another team (prolly Utah). it's a matter of time i think. what do you think about that? BYU in the Pac 10?

Anyway, blu, don't y'all learn any manners out there?
I addressed ylo, not you. How many players over 30 do you have this year?

Speak when/where/and about what you were/are spoken to and you will get along better in life. I guess you would not know that however, it (whoops......don't get ugly, don't get ugly).......
