On gojackets.com there is a category for that list the visits scheculed by prospects and the dates of the scheculed visit.

Why do we have no visits scheculed for Janurary? It looks very perculiar because everyone else that I looked at.....the SEC and ACC schools surrounding us that recruit Georgia the hardest have scheculed the majority of their visits for Janurary.

This is not a flame(I am trying to honor GTfan's request) but a legitamate question and if anyone has an answer or opinion I would appreciate hearing it.

gojackets.com posts people that have told them they are there on an official visit. We have guys coming in all the time. The website says that this week we have 11 players in when we actually have 20. Some may not be official, but nowadays official is just a word and most recruits have visits every weekend and a bunch of times visit the same place 2 or 3 times. I know this doesnt answer your question fully but im sure they will come around. More will show up after the football season is completly done. By the way, the kids that are visiting this weekend all look to have good size. DLs especially. I think both recievers visiting also looked to be very interested tonight and hopefullt they have a good time this weekend. Come see them tomorrow at the BBall game.

Good question Stateline... and great answer GTFish... I will also add this... and its not meant to diminish Rivals nor Insiders, I am a member of both and enjoy them... but neither are the gospel by a long shot... I personally know 3 kids who will play Div1A ball next year and the info they have surrounding these guys are an approximation at best...

We really dont know what our coaching staff is doing or planning to do, we only know what is public info.. sometimes a kid that may look like the perfect recruit, (grades, talent, etc) may not be so good from a personality standpoint... you just never know

I will give it a shot. I just think the current staff, as did the previous one, likes to have its big recruiting weekend in December because the belief is the type of kid that comes to Georgia Tech is also not likely to be the type that drums up a lot of self-publicity, bouncing between school leaders, doing press releases...all leading up to a signing day press conference where they open up their shirt to reveal the t-shirt of the team they are going to. Historically, we have lost almost every year we have had one of those to a large state U. of some sort.

Our kids have to give at least a little bit of weight to academics...or why even come to GT and take the harder curriculum?

All that being said, our kids are more likely to commit early than others. Just my opinion.

NotreDame, Stanford, Purdue, and Penn State do the same thing.

btw:
Parrish Fisher will visit 1/?
Drew Gause 1/16
Maurice Crum, Jr. 1/9

I believe i read where Drew Gause is here this weekend....I like what i read on him...4.4 speed with size...Is he the next Tony Hollings?? As ive said before, Nobody ever really knows about ANY high School prospect..ONLY time will tell..From what i read on him...he has the makings of an ever down type back like Hollings (meaning he has SIZE and Speed and can take 25 to 30 carries a game and has that break away speed )...we lack one of these on our roster... He is also a Major Major Pro Baseball prospect....Could be a two sport star here....
