Synjyn Days

lol at the swear filter.

It's m a g instead of the *s, in case anyone was wondering.

Well, öööö, the y brackets method still has the swear filter. The asterisks are replaced by a homosexual slur which rhymes with mag.

GT QB is going to be on lockdown for the next 4-5 years. Whoever will start will earn it. I'm so glad to see Synjyn's response to what was the biggest focus in practice. Seeing that the school is putting an emphasis on passing is good to see.

Our QB competion >> UGA's RB competition

Was I the only one who heard him say they lost to Ga. St. in 7 on 7?

yep. He misspoke. He meant they lost track of how many points they scored against Georgia State.

Repost. Mods, please ban this cockteaser.

Just kidding. We all knew Synjyn is going to be awesome. What I don't know is how the staff is going to coach him out of fumbles. Turnovers will be the key. If you can't run the 3O w/o TOs you need to change offenses. IOW, you fail. Killing a drive or turning the ball over in your own territory is not acceptable. I Know it's not cool. I'm saying it is not acceptable. Do the coaches make them carry a football with them every day, sleep at night? Or do they just act like that's bullshit. We'll see. Because that is going to be the number one crux of our season coming up.

I personally think carrying around a football is dumb. It's more about where and how you old the ball in different situations. The best approach seems like it would be to watch videos of yourself and make sure you're holding the ball in the right way at every moment. The snap and the mesh take even more practice than analysis.

Wow, what a great and well spoken kid. I really like him. I know I have been critical of him, but I really hope he develops into the total package QB we need him to be. He certainly looks the part much more so than TW. Can't wait to see him get some snaps in the opener.

There is a right way and a wrong way to carry a football. It can be coached, drilled and repped into a player. Aside from actual correct form, part of it is being comfortable with the offense, part of it is knowing how to absorb contact from defensive players.

Fortunately, running qb's know where most hits come from as opposed to pocket passers who get hit blind more often. And then there are some fumbles that have nothing at all to do with poor form, they're just great hits and are usually not seen coming.

"I wanna be remembered here first as a Christian man, and then as a great athlete at Georgia Tech."

Does he wanna be our Tim Tebow?

And yes, he did say we lost to GA State once

Not surprising considering 7 on 7s are entirely passing.

Disagree, we should have a better throwing QB and WRs than Georgia State. Come on now!

I bet Vad wouldn't lose!

Has there been a TW video yet?

obviously none of you have actually repped in a 7 on 7 and don't realize how much BS it is. You could lose to anyone. Its a coverage read game and not a true competition. Most of it ends up being 1 on 1, you have no QB pressure, there is no requirement to get the ball out quick or throw it away, so once coverage breaks it becomes 1 on 1. Without a coach monitoring it, which they can't right now, its totally pointless to worry about who wins or loses. What you want to get from it is QB/WR timing, proper breaks/coverage reads and that is about all its worth.

on the D its all about backend communication and alignment.

Didn't someone in an interview say Vad led a 4 play TD drive against GSU?

Orwin Smith -- went on to say that Vad can pass but doesn't know yet how well he'll run the option. Also cautioned against pumping-up the true freshman too much (based on his own experience).
