It was compounded by bad reads, but when there are multiple defenders in the backfield every time we run the ball there is a problem. Missed assignments or just beat? I'll have to watch the replay to see.

Earn your right to be called goons.

D-line was getting pushed around all day as well.

Yeah, it is always hard to tell from so far away, but I sure didn't get a very good feeling about the o-line today.

6-0

Our offensive line just wiffed on a bunch of blocks today. Terrible

And no one can tell me that somehow Maryland really only had one penalty today - an obvious false start. I know of a terrible PI that went uncalled and one obvious hold on a bootleg that went uncalled.

When we absolutely needed it, 4 O-Linemen whiffed on blocks. Just atrocious. No one can run behind that.

This is going to be a long week for the "goon squad"

Cheerleader = Phil Smith
So and so = Will Jackson
What's her face = Jay Finch
The ugly one = Uzzi

I was a little worried about NCST living in our backfield last week, and it looks like it carried over to this game. The o-line did pass block well yesterday and Orwin was wide open all day across the middle. I am very pleased that we are 6-0 though!!

100% absolutely spot on re: the penalty calls (or in this case the lack of same) and the blown PI call in particular, the "no call" on that play was both painful and patently absurd!

QB play was the biggest problem

Yup. The DE isn't going to be blocked folks. If he's in the backfield and tackles Tevin, it's because Tevin made the wrong read - NOT because our OL did a bad job blocking. Most of the plays in the backfield yesterday were bad reads. You can't clamor that our blocking was bad because the players we read off of make the play.

Now we did do a bad job blocking up the gut. They seemed to load up the outside pretty well, Sims/Lyons should have been going nutso.

I honestly thought the Maryland defenders in the backfield were more a function of the way their defense played than of offensive line. They brought linebackers to the perimeter and fired inside and split their tackles wide. Basically they dared us to run up the middle and we couldn't.
