Vad Lee will get chance to compete

Dumbass questions. I can't form opinions or reach conclusions from reports of those who did attend the scrimmages or have seen the practices?
So which reports do you believe and which do you discount? I mean, you seriously think that a bunch of guys who hang around at spring practices and post on the internet have a clue what they're talking about?

IMO, Vad really hurt his chances of playing as a true freshman when he decided not to enroll early. I can understand his desire to finish out his senior year but I think it eventually causes him to redshirt this year.

fixed

we've got a situation similar to USC with Matt Barkley 2 years ago. They had Aaron Corp and Mitch Mustain ahead of him, and Matty knew he had a chance. He was up to par with them by the end of the summer, and once the season started Corp started. that lasted 2 games, and Matty started game 3.

Prediction: Tevin/Synjyn starts for a game or two, and once Vad is set to go he'll step in and start the rest of the way.

This is exactly the point I was trying to make. Vad will compete out of sheer necessity due to our QB's being so unimpressive in the spring.

My prediction. Vad will start the season at #3, work his way up to #2 and then maybe become the starter. He will at the very least see live action because of an injury or due to the ineffectiveness of the starter. No way he redshirts. No way.

Bump.

lol. Don't forget this beauty from talent scout Jerry the Jacket

I have seen the future. . of Georgia Tech football and his name is Vad Lee. . . . He most likely will not start the year but my prediction is that before the year is over, Vad Lee will be our starting QB. This is not a put down of Tevin or Synjyn but I am telling you that based on the eye ball test, Vad Lee is our best looking Quarterback right now.

That's fine. Looks like I was wrong.
We've been lucky this year with QB injuries. Prior to this season, every one of PJ's seasons had games where the starting QB missed time due to injury. If that were to happen this season without us having developed any kind of serviceable depth, then we would have been in big trouble.

Even now, if TW goes down, we have Days (who fumbles every other play) as the starter and Dickey as the backup.

PJ is rolling the dice.

I was just messing with ya buddy. Agree that PJ rolled the dice with this decision.

If TW goes down right now there is little doubt in my mind that VL will get a shot to play this year. It may not be in the game he goes down, but I have a hard time believing that PJ would go with Days for too long if he can't hold onto the ball - ESPECIALLY if you are talking about a game against Duke to get to the ACCCG or a game against uga.

I think our defense will score enough against Duke to win the game this year all on their own.

I think Days would also need to be injured for the shirt to come off. CPJ is too stubborn to Spurrier his QBs around. He'll grind Days' face into it until he does it right, and save Vad's shirt for when we have no other real QBs. If TW and Days both go down, then yeah, we'll see him. I just don't think it happens before then, since we've basically committed to it all the way already.

We have Sims in an emergency. It's too late to take the shirt off, imo.

Vad looked mighty good running out of the tunnel in his shiny white uni in that last hype vid, though.

No way.

If TW goes down (and he won't) we will not burn an entire season for Vad just for a couple of games.

I hate UGA but burning a redshirt for any one game would be insanity.

Despite the belief by some that Vad Lee is an instant savior, he likely would struggle in his first couple of game anyway. That is, I doubt he would change the outcome in any game this year if he did start.

How the hell did he "roll the dice"?

He started our best QB at the time and worked our backup enough to know he was adequate if given time.

Lee was always there and would have moved to the backup role if Syn were the starter. Only at that point would he have gotten reps.

CPJ didn't take any chances or risks; he just made choices that gave us the best chance to win this year AND had a backup plan.

Vad Lee starts 2012, Tevin graduates this spring and goes into the real world.
