. . . still has a chance to:

(1) Win 10 games, which is a darn good season

(2) Beat UGa, which can make a darn good season into a great season

(3) Win a bowl game and end the horrible bowl losing streak we currently have going.

or

(1) They can crap their pants in Durham and end up with 7 wins

(2) Lose to UGa for the 11th time in the 21st century (Bobby Dodd lost to them 10 times in 22 years)

(3) Lose another bowl game and have us old timers wondering what happened to teh bowl magic that meant GT was, at one time, the winningest bowl team (percentage-wise) in America.

I've been saying it all year. We are too young to maintain the emotional focus necessary to play our 'A' game every week. We pretty much emptied our fuel tank against Clemson and I was actually surprised we weren't flatter than we were last night.

I think we have the core of a championship team but, like many of our fans, emotional maturity is lacking.

I had the worst feeling that we were going to get completely rolled last night because of this. We didn't play our smartest game, but we kept fighting and frankly just got beat by a better/more talented football team.

10-3 is what I'm rooting for. We're in the home stretch now.

If we beat ugay I think that will make the season a great one. If we lose, well öööö happens lol.

The 2011 GT football team....has already exceeded many of our expectations. 8-4 is solid considering there aren't a lot of superstars on this team and we are young. I'll take it. I'm expecting more next year.

I say that more in hope for the future than as an excuse for this year.

I'll tell you what I miss...a game breaker BB. Sims runs it tough and has a nice YPC, but nobody is scared of the ball in his hands. Hopefully Perkins steps it up next year. We need another gear out of our BB. The position has been a big yawn all year.

Agreed.

CPJ would run plays designed to get Dwyer (and Allen to a lesser extent) the ball in space. Don't see any of that this season.

At the start of the season I had said 8-4 would be a good season for this team. Starting 6-0 caused me to tweak up expectations, but the fact is the toughest part of our schedule is the latter-half. So all-in-all, a potential 9-3 finish --which would mean a win over UGA-- would make for a very satisfying season. I do want to win a bowl game under CPJ --so if somehow this team wins 10 then I will be more than satisfied,

Spot on assessment.

Thank you for this post! We have a lot to play for. Time to get over it and move on!

Was telling one of our fellow fans, a good friend, this morning about Carter's choice to come to GT (Huge 5 star basketball recruit that picked us over the pups). It's a big deal to me, and big for our bball program. Is really is for my friend who loves any GT sport. His response was, "Can he tackle?" He wasn't trying to be funny. He's so emotionally unstable right now, he can't see the good for what happened last night. GET OVER IT! Yes, everyone was upset. The team hurts too, but you have to move on and over come.

A lot of fans are big cry babies, and they feel like their rocked emotions are going to some how makes things better for them and GT. It makes them feel like they care more or something?

I totally understand being upset big time, but don't let it hang on. Get over it, and learn something from it.

Lingering bad feelings about something that went wrong does not mean you care more.

. . . is still on track for 9 wins, which was my preseason prediction. Losing a game like that sucks, but meh. Rebuilding year. Next year we're going to have basically the same team but older and stronger.
