Who gives a öööö what the reason was? Im as pisses as everyone eleae at how that play turned the momentum, but a kid made a mistake. He has to live with that mistake and up to this point he has been a great player and good representative of GT. I'm not turning on him over one stupid act on a football field. Stop being dicks about it.

In case that is aimed partly at me, I wasn't trying to be a dick about it. Last night's loss was very much a team loss; Attaochu's mistake was just the single biggest. Shame on the fans who blame the entire game on him, call him a thug, and say his scholarship should be pulled. Don't throw the guy under the bus until the personal fouls become a theme--I don't think it will.

You're right. Another thread on his error was totally necessary.

It was an answer to the several people who criticized Attaochu for "lying" about the punch being the result of him trying to knock the ball loose. I think new news sometimes deserves new threads.

Even pros make mistakes like JA. Not a big deal if we don't make it into a big deal. STFU and start hating on Duke and UGA instead of our own damn players.

Nothing wrong with this thread IMO. The kid is getting ripped to shreds on this board, might as well give him some semblance of a voice. But yeah, we all do need to stop being dicks about it.

If you try to tackle someone a foot taller than you and grab them around the chest what do you expect. He should have wrapped around the waist or below and driven through him if he wanted to tackle him properly.

exactly...trying to be the hero and get the big hit got him burned.

trying to be a hero and get a pick got Sweeting burned.

trying to be a hero and get a pick got Thomas burned.

just too many heroes and not enough composure from our young team.

This is me just going out on a limb, but... The best defensive player on our team probably knows how to execute a tackle properly. We might be missing some information here.

Not aimed at anyone in particular and not necessarily at this thread. I just am getting very tired of the way people treat the SAs after these games. He obviously made a mistake. I'm pretty sure that he feels pretty awful about the play and letting his teammates down. No need to pile on with the "he is a thug, he should lose his scholarship, he is lying about his intentions" type stuff.

he was going for the blindside boom, didn't even go for the strip on the ball, and the dude probably outweighs him by 10 pounds. It was a piss poor tackle on Logan Thomas, it was a great tackle on someone like Brynn Renner, Jacory Harris, or any other ACC QB.

You mean like this is a way faster game than the ones that 99% of us that even played football good dream of experiencing?

There are currently 3 or 4 posters that need to talk about college technique and I'm damn sure Knoxville isn't one of them.

Didn't know there was a "college technique." Maybe that's the problem. Perhaps they should try the football technique.

Maybe you should get out there and show them. I'm sure the LB core needs some lessons from an obviously experienced college football player on how to appropriately tackle a huge QB in game situations.

I'm sure it's exactly like the tackle dummy drills us HS players went through back in Dickety-Six.

Oh and congrats on the classic Tech online move of when I don't know what the öööö I'm talking about I'll just get pedantic.

You realize you just before used the classic "you didn't play college ball so you can't talk about it" move, right?

I don't know why you guys are taking the criticism so personally. The guy made a terrible mistake that was a major contributing factor in us losing. Of course he is going to catch flak for it, and of course some people are going to go overboard...that's life in the public eye for a football player. For anyone, really.
