Gator Bowl Fail

I bet it is a HORRIBLE game and all but it does have the most compelling story line of all the bowl games, imo.

UF isn't even selling out their current home stadium, so doubtful people are going to drive and spend $$$ on overpriced tickets to watch an anemic Charlie Weiss offense lose to Ohio State.

Small grammar nazi moment here, but why he hell do people always spell "Charlie Weis" as "Charlie Weiss"? It's like an epidemic...it has a higher error rate than "yea/yeah".

This game will have a higher percentage of attendance than the sun bowl, and it wont even be close. Florida fans are pissed about Meyer and will show up to this game. They will take it personally. Ohio st fans are excited about the future and can spend the new years in Florida as opposed to Ohio. This is a great matchup for the gator bowl.

Probably because there are actually many people with the name Weiss who pronounce it the exact same way.

Same reason why people spell Keith Brooking, Keith Brookings I would guess.

Negative. SunBowl sells out every year. Huge local support.

This was a New Year's day bowl with 9 or 10 win teams. Neither fanbase is excited for this year and won't spend the $$$'s. Just from a prestige standpoint, this matchup is a loser. Champ Sports has better teams in it.

More evidence why the whole bowl system is a farce. Bowls would prefer no restrictions on who they invite and would probably invite some losing teams if they thought they could sell tickets.

We'll see. I predict the whole stadium will be full (not just a sellout with a bunch of empty seats, but actual fans in the seats.)

I agree it is a loser from a prestige standpoint, but I don't think that they really care about that at all.

It's like the one major sports event outside of UTEP home games. The place will be sold out.
