Many on here have crapped on our bowl streak of 10 straight appearances due to the large number of bowls available these days, and that argument has merit ...

But, how about 10 straight winning seasons? Last time we did that was 1913-1922. Or if you prefer 10 straight non-losing seasons, then the last time was 1957-1966.

I say 10 straight winning seasons is something to be proud of. Not many programs can claim that.

You are right! Our expectations have been way too high. Lets go for an 11th winning season

I have brought this point up before. I have stated in the past that I was disappointed in the hiring of CG. The main reason is that I was not a fan of his offensive philosophy in the NFL. My opinion has not changed.

That being said, he is the HC at GT so I certainly have supported him and want him to have a successful run at the Flats. While I have been disappointed with the ups and downs of the program, right up to these last two games where I truly felt GT had the better team and should have come away with two W's, CG has now been HC for half of the 10 straight winning seasons, with 37 of the 79 wins during that span. Bobby Dodd won a total of 37 games in his last five years at the healm (of course he played fewer games).

I'm 41 years old, I remember GT being a little better than a .500 team under Pepper Rodgers. I remember Billy Curry's first two years in '80 & '81 to defeating UGA in '84 and the great season in '85. But just two years later Bobby Ross' second and third seasons saw GT fall to the cellar of the ACC, to then rise up two years later and win the '90 NC.

Ross left and the Bill Lewis years made 1990 seem like a decade-and-a-half ago. George O'Leary came in and after a couple of years had the program back up to where you felt like his team had a chance anytime it took the field (if Joe Ham & co. could put up 30+ that is, which they did more times than not, often putting up 40+).

While I have not been happy with the consistency of inconsistency that thus far has defined the CG era, he has kept the program away from sub-.500, and this was an exciting year up until really the UNC game. The biggest problem I have with CG is pretty evident, he hitched his wagon to RB and that really was a mistake, a mistake that hopefully he can overcome in the next year.

Yep that is it, coaches live and die by their qb have a good one and you're a genius (Amato with Phillip Rivers) a bad one and you're an idiot (Bobby Bowden with Chris Rix). Let's wait until next year when we can throw more inside the numbers and the playobbok truly opens up, this program has been trending upward, recruiting is fixed (for now), the defense has always been there and with the high coaching turnover in the ACC and the main powerhouses being down (UM and FSU) we can be a player for years, now if we could just find a QB...

Grow up prevent. No one on this thread has said things are all rosey or shouldn't be better. But the fact that we've had 10 straight winning years also indicates the program isn't in the dumps either.

It's funny how the same crowd who claim they will not accept mediocrity are only too happy to make mediocre or worse postings like this.

Ok. 10 winning seasons. Thats great. And what Bradley says today is 100% correct. The excuses and shoulda woulda couldas are getting old in the middle of 10 winning seasons. So my point is either 1) An expectation every year of a winning season is good enough or 2) The next level needs to be reached which is an ACC Championship AND Beat UGA. I assure you that a "9" win season in a weak ACC with 3 bad losses to end the year if thats what happens is not flying with me or most of the alumni who dont post. People are pissed off and laughing at the fact that Dan Rad is going to ask for more money to have the "right" to buy a season ticket. It aint gonna happen. Do you fire Gailey? No. You force him to get a real Offensive Coordinator that can take you to the next level. Pat Nix is not it- He was Ball's QB coach for the last 4 years. So, again, the expectations need to be raised or lowered. 9 out of 15 isnt any different than 7 out of 11.

I'm not disagreeing with most of your post. But I'm still not clear on what you're trying to say. So any season where we don't 1) beat ugag and 2) win the ACCCG is a failure and we need to fire somebody?

Are you really a Tech alum? 9 out of 15?

History is great.......but whats happening in the present....bone headed coaching decisions; starting players that are NOT getting any better...We should be in the upper echelon....
