GT in the ACC from 2002-2006 and 1997-2001

Year (W-L).... (PF - PA) (O - D) -total points rank (offense-defense)
2006:.. (7-2)... (219-164) (1 - 7)
2005:.. (5-3)... (154-162) (9 - 5) *12 teams
2004:.. (4-4)... (142-177) (8 - 6) *11 teams
2003:.. (4-4)... (151-178) (8 - 4)
2002:.. (4-4)... (148-150) (7 - 3) *9 teams
-----------------------------------------------
'02-'06 (24-17) (814-831)
avg.................(19.8-20.3)

*One thing I noticed about GT's #1 ranking of 219 total points scored in 2006 --during 2002 through 2005, 219 total points would have ranked GT no higher than 4th.

Year (W-L) ....(PF-PA) (O - D) -total points rank (offense-defense)
2001: ..(4-4)... (246-215) (3 - 5)
2000:.. (6-2)... (284-164) (2 - 2)
1999: ..(5-3)... (307-261) (2 - 8)
1998: ..(7-1)... (297-200) (1 - 3)
1997: ..(5-3)... (200-208) (4 - 6)
-----------------------------------------------
'97-'01: (27-13) (1,334-1,048)
avg..................(33.4-26.2)

*Compared to '02-'06, GT was basically scoring 2 more TD's per game in conference from '97-'01.

We complain about our coaching now (justifiably), but how would you feel if we were to score more than twice as many points as our opponents, and still somehow end up even in conference?

Nevermind, our oponents actually scored 215 points on us that year. The worst offenders were Wake (33, we won), Virginia (39), and Clemson (47).

How do you like living in Athens, Calvin?

I really don't mind it; except for a 7 year stint in the army, I've been here all my life.

There really is a smell here, though. I'm told it emits from the Broad River, but I don't know...

You like living with mutts?

BTW, that smell is uga's dog poop.

I graduated from UGA and my four roommates were of course Dawg fans --all high school friends of mine. What helped make it bearable for me was:

frosh year: 1984- 35-18
soph year: 1985- 20-16

...my friends got even during my jr & sr years --but GT winning during those first two years really did make life a bit easier for me during my time in Athens.

I can understand a UGA graduate going to GT graduate school for resume improvement, but why would a GT grad go to UGA graduate school with Emory and Georgia State available?

Emory = expensive, GSU = sucked?
