12-2 or Bust?

And only one of those local teams has managed to win.

Twice.

Don't get me wrong, I'd go (again), but I'd be surprised to see it happen.

I'll say it in case no one else does or will.

IMO, The ACC front office HATES us.
We get jobbed deliberately & repeatedly by ACC refs:
Boston College 2007,
UNC 2009
UNC 2011
Clemson 2011
and the list goes on & on.

Ken Seguira recently posted stats those prove that
GT is THE MOST penalized team in the ACC, year-in and year-out.

So, here's what I'll be looking for over the next few weeks.

IMO, GT will beat VPI and then beat Duke. That would leave VPI with
basically ZERO CHANCE of winning the Coastal.

UVA has MD, Duke, FSU, and VPI left. If UVA beats MD and Duke,
then we might just see the ACC refs "stick it" to FSU preserve Clemson’s division
lead and to try to insure a UVA win.

If UVA beats FSU, then the VPI-UVA game will determine
whether UVA or GT wins the Coastal.

And because Beamer despises GT, I would look for VPI to "give the game away"
to UVA (with or without the refs help) just to screw GT out of the ACC-CG.

If you havent figured it out already, the ACC CLEARLY DOES NOT WANT a
Clemson-GT ACC-CG .It wants a Clemson-VPI or Clemson-UVA ACC-CG.
And, I think that coming events WILL prove it out.

A key sign to watch: If the ACC crew/refs that ref-ed the Clemson-GT game,
ends up at the FSU-UVA game, and perhaps the VPI-UVA game.

Under this "screw GT" scenario, Clemson probably goes to the Orange Bowl,
UVA goes to the ChikFilA Bowl, FSU goes to the Gator Bowl(which the Gator
Bowl has demanded), Wake probably goes to the Music City Bowl,
and of course, GT get the screw job to El Paso.

We'll see.

Wake won't go the Nashville over us.

And FSU ain't going to the Gator Bowl; no ACC does. But otherwise, I have observed the SEC and understand fully that EVERY employee there understands their marching orders: Get this year's big boy into the NC game.

I just want to beat UGA. Really, really bad.

I can stomach the losses to the other teams. I could also get over losing to Duke. They have been competitive and we are playing them in Durham. We struggled there last time and that was the year we won the ACC.
Look guys would like to win them all and hope we do but.........if we beat Georgie then its a great year. Then all the guys can say wait until next year and Vad and next year we have our on guys etc but beating a Ga now would be a shot in the arm to the program. It would make it Tech 2 and PJ 2 of course vs Ga in last four years.Lets win them all but play them one at a time.

What GT needs the most out of what is left is a UGAg win and a good bowl win. These are the ONLY games that will help change the perception about GT's shortcomings.

well I guess it would all be tainted with a loss to Duke, so lets go ahead and win that one too
Now you are talking, still cant get the taste out of my mouth when we won the ACC and lost to a Ga team.Beating Ga now defines our program.Losing to them hurts us badly .Whip their asses.

I don't think it will kill us to lose to Clemson in the ACCCG. Even if we do, 11-3 with wins over VT, uga, and a bowl game to close the season would be pretty sweet, imo.

You should spend less time worried.

I can agree with this as well.

I just hope we get up for the VPI game like we did for Clemson. Keep that momentum rolling!

Even if UVA wins out and we go 10-2 in season, then maybe a BCS Bowl would be available against LSU/Bama in the Sugar Bowl. I'd almost rather.

The Big Ten doesn't need to send two teams this year and certainly the Sugar Bowl knows we'd travel well there.

I don't think a 2-loss GT team gets to a BCS bowl game over someone like a 2-loss Oregon/Oklahoma. (let me just make sure I've got #'s right)

NCG: Bama (for example purposes) vs OK State
Rose: Stanford vs. Ohio State (for example purposes and hopes)
Fiesta: Oklahoma vs. Boise State
Orange: ACC winner vs Big East
Sugar: LSU vs. Oregon

yeah I don't think it happens...

ok then switch Boise and Oregon.

We have to beat VPI next Thursday to win the division, but we're not toast if we don't. They are 8-1 just like CU.

We absolutely must beat Dook. Remember, Heather Dimwit picked the Dookies in her upset special for the season. Major damage to the program's image if we lose to them.

We need to beat UGAg just on principle, especially if we beat VPI and win the division. It will hurt us in state and the ACC's rep even more if we lose again.

We must win whatever bowl we play in this year. Six bowl losses IAR stinks.
