A veteran who has been a part-time starter and a key player on special teams for three seasons... enjoyed a solid spring and seems to have found a home at outside linebacker Tech's 3-4 defense... entered 2008 as the starter at outside linebacker, but suffered a shoulder injury in the season opener... came back to have a productive sophomore season but broke a bone in his leg in the win at Georgia and missed the bowl game ... graduated in the summer of 2010 and is playing this fall as a graduate student.

2009 (Junior)
Played as a key reserve at linebacker and defensive end, and also played a big role on special teams... recorded 16 tackles, a half-tackle for loss and one forced fumble... had three tackles and a half-tackle for loss at Florida State (Oct. 10)... recorded two tackles and forced a fumble in the opener against Jacksonville State (Sept. 5).

2008 (Sophomore)
Sophomore's season ended prematurely with a broken bone in his leg at Georgia (Nov. 29)... 2008 was a tough-luck season for Barnes... started in the season opener, then missed the next two games with a shoulder injury... came off the bench for the next four games and finally resumed his starting duties Oct. 25... had 16 tackles, 10 solo tackles for the season... recorded three solo tackles vs. Florida State (Nov. 1)... recorded five tackles, including two solo tackles, vs. Gardner-Webb (Oct. 11)... started at OLB in the season opener vs. Jacksonville State (Aug. 28) and made one tackle before suffering a shoulder injury in the first half.


2007 (Freshman)
Played in all 12 regular season games and started three times -- vs. Clemson, Maryland and Army... credited with 29 tackles including 20 solo efforts... recorded 6.0 tackles-for-loss and 1.5 sacks... recovered one fumble... had one quarterback hurry... had a sack for minus-13 yards in the season opener at Notre Dame (Sept. 1)... had six tackles at Virginia (Sept. 22)... recorded a career-high seven tackles including 1.5 TFL's vs. Clemson (Sept. 29)... recovered a fumble at Duke (Nov. 10)... had five tackles, including 2.5 tackles-for-loss, vs. Georgia (Nov. 24).
