AP actually watches the games and almost has an anti-SEC bias because of how AP allocates voters. The number of voters for every state equals number of FBS teams, and so Ohio and Michigan with the MAC schools have the most voters.
So they watched that game where Greyson Lambert played Vanderbilt and didn't complete a pass until the middle of the 3rd quarter and then ranked Greyson Lambert's team the 7th best in the nation?
Yeah sure, I guess. Crazier stuff happened this weekend.
Georgia being ranked higher, as undeserved as it is, will make us look better come November when we curb stomp them.

I have no idea how Auburn dropped to #16 when no one voted them that low. Only a handful of voters placed them 10-14.
