Ft. Washington, MD? Ummm how are we getting studs from Ft. Washington, MD??

I don’t think we have ever had a presence there - that is MD/Penn St territory

Somebody on our recruiting staff is kicking butt.
 
When these sites say a guy like this has offers from Penn State, Texas A&M, Pitt, and West Virginia, how accurate really is that? Is there more to the story or something? I honestly have a hard time believing we're out-recruiting those schools for an out-of-state recruit given the state of our coaching staff

Doesn't mean that each of those schools would definitely accept a commitment from him today, But an accurate representation of schools that have expressed enough interest to offer at some point.

We are still a power 5 school in Atlanta, so it shouldn't come as a surprise that we can still get some recruits. The staff's fate will be clear before signing day.

Jarrett Jack is the one and only I remember from Fort Washington and I’m not sure it was the same school

Fort Washington is DC/VA area. Doesn't have much to do recruiting MD/PA. FWIW, Derrick Morgan was from Lancaster, PA.

Sneezy and Louis Young, IIRC, and Rod Rook-Chungong were from that area.
We did get a few guys from there. And then our in for that part of the world got fired.

Sneezy and Louis Young were recruited by Al Groh (who was pretty connected in this area).
 
If you are 1000% committed I'm pretty sure that means your kids & grandkids have to play for GT too; so good legacy recruiting.

I’m in Northern VA and other than Sneezy and Young (who were Al Groh guys), Morgan was a Gailey recruit and I’ll never understand how we got him out of PA. Gailey knew somebody in PA - i recall two monster sized fullbacks - brothers (Lucas and ??? Cox) that Gailey got from PA.

Mike Cox was the other, although I remember a Matthew Cox too I think.

Morgan staying and being on PJ's traditionally weak DEF made a HUGE! difference.If Paul could have hit with maybe 2 more like him,he still might be here.

Gotsis in 2012.

2011 had Tuitt committed before ND visited the night before N$D and suddenly his mom refused to sign the Tech papers.

Everybody wanted Denzel McCoy at DT in 2010 and he had to retire before taking a snap due to a medical issue.

Attaochu in 2010.

That would have rivaled the 2008 DL. And we were pretty damn close to having it.
