2001 Recruits

In the Athlon Sports college football mag. they listed the top 50 recruits from 2001 and tell you wear they are now. Interesting read! To summarize the numbers though. There was 12(24%) that didn't pan out or make it to the pros, 1 that plays pro baseball(Starting Catcher for the Twins), 2 still in college(Both expected to start next year, 1 for Texas the other for the Gamecocks), and 35(70%) that either got drafted or signed as free agents in the NFL. Good read for anybody who likes to argue about weather recruit rankings mean anything or not.

Over 2000 kids sign Div 1-A scholarships each year. It's not the top 50 that are debatable; it's the bottom 1500 that can't be precisely rated, and for most schools, its the bottom 1500 that are the difference betweeen winning and losing.
