You are correct in that the early returns on the 2002 class may be better than expected. Of course, you need more than 3 or 4 contributors out of a class and the depth of this class will not be determined for another 2 or 3 years. Also - many of those guys were recruited by O'Leary so it remains to be seem what Gailey and his staff will do and early returns don't look very good. I still haven't heard a good explanation for the recruiting philosophy of de-emphasizing the state of GA after O'Leary made so much progress in this area.

Hey Axe - a couple of questions from your practice watching time...

Any thoughts on Daniels ?

How did Hatch appear during practices - was he favoring that knee ? Do you believe that he's still having some soreness or whatever ?

Did you concur with the coaches on Dixon's lack of speed, moving him to FB ?

Any other thoughts on the RB position as it now stands ?

Thanks

Among the many things overlooked by the whiney and increasingly ornery GT fanbase, is the positive early returns on the 2002 GT recruiting class.

Obviously we must continue to see how these guys develop but right now it appears we have a class with some very nice players in it and not a lot of dead weight. We only had the 15 or 16 ships to give and it doesn't look like we've wasted too many.

Look at the kids already playing. ACE and Bridges look like they might be real good players. Bridges has a chance to be a star. ACE showed some nice things Saturday.

Those of us that have been to practice will tell you, that nearly all the true freshman on the squad right now have a real good chance to help us down the road. You can't always say that. Even in recent years, we've had some arrrive on campus that weren't exactly what we thought back in February.

I have to give the current and previous staff a lot of credit for their player evaluation. It's a small class, but it is very solid.
