2007 Recruits- Any movement?

We are still the one to beat for Walls. He is a nice young man that is not going to like telling anyone 'no' as he is appreciative of the interest.

There are a lot of tough situations as the offers and commits are happening earlier and earlier...and really there are almost 8 months left before signing day!

Still at or near top two for Threet, Dwyer, Jones, Claytor, Donley, White, Baker, Walls, Ambrose, Tucker, Carter, Everson, and Butler.
 
Think they will ever move up signing date? Especially as the recruiting intensity is picking up earlier and earlier each year?
That's good to hear about Walls as I hope that we end up with him in the end. As for the rest of the guys you've listed what a year it would be if we landed ALL of them... Who's a guy out there (in your opinion) that has lots of talent but who is "flying under the radar" right now?? Where do you see our BIGGEST gap being for recruiting in 2007?
 
I know that many football coaches have lobbied for an early signing period as they have in basketball. At the same time, many feel like the pressure to fill up early could leave some kids that physically develop and have big seniors years with less options. Basketball is far more predictable than football in terms of their contributions in college.

I think it is safe to say Melton surprised all of us by having a big camp showing, which puts him under the radar. Per a recruiting article out there it appears Michael Parker (Safety) could fit in that same category. Jefferson and Tarrant already had Auburn offers...and some others...for instance so I would not put them under the radar. Cam Baker is a big talent that has not received enought attention outside of Arkansas.

Not sure what you mean by biggest gap unless you mean position of need. Since we recruit in a balanced manner each year (and played catch up on OL) it leaves us with less gaping holes. Although I think no one would argue more depth is needed in this recruiting class in terms of the safety position, then perhaps DE and LB. We are in the position now at RB, WR, QB, and OL where we can just recruit to replace the numbers we lose each year...which is a good thing.

In my humble opinion, the two positions clear front runners have not been found yet for this class are TE and DT.

Well now we have received a verbal from Threet this morning! That is awesome & will hopefully help with momentum for the guys that are SO CLOSE to doing the same.
